Air color: 220 m2 apartment in Nur-Sultan Design 12.06.2022 Designer Aizhana Kunayeva turned two uncomfortable apartments in a new residential complex in Nur-Sultan into one — luxurious, modern, with elements of classic French style Living room. As soon as I had a free minute, I took coffee and came here to wander around the rooms. It’s a good way to understand space and see life in it.” The hall on the left goes into the living room, and on the right — into the bedrooms. The Sturm und Drang mirror from Glass Italia. Photo SERGEY KRASYUK “Each of the apartments was bright at a certain time of day, but we needed light to fill the interior all day,” the designer continues. — This idea determined the location for a spacious hall, which later became a link between the private and the common part of the apartment. All the bevels were leveled and sewn into the walls, additionally insulated, since in Nur-Sultan the winter is protracted, the temperature minus forty is quite a familiar phenomenon. Of course, we lost a bit of space, but we gained significantly in the overall space! The apartment literally breathed differently.” Canteen. Balboa showcases by Theodore Alexander. The scale is set by volumetric chandeliers, but due to the color and structure of Murano glass, they seem absolutely airy. The living room is divided into a formal dining room, where the family likes to gather guests at a large table, and a soft area where it is so cozy to have conversations. The kitchen, Veneta Cucine, opens into the living room through sliding glass doors. You can get there from the corridor. The built-in hood, Kuppersbusch, leaves the island with a light push on the panel. Selene lamps from ClassiCon dictated the choice of a copper handle for the wine cabinet. The image was completed with a graphic black solid wood table and black laconic Miss chairs, designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, Molteni & C. On the floor — large-format porcelain stoneware, Inalco. Photo SERGEY KRASYUK The owners of the apartment are a young couple, both work a lot. “We met only on key issues,” says Aizhana. — But all the wishes of the customers were fulfilled. These are, for example, a lot of storage systems, a beautiful kitchen that can be isolated, and its own bathroom for each bedroom. As for the color, the owners wanted “something neutral”. But I took a chance and painted aquamarine for the walls of the living room. The hostess received him so warmly that we added color to all the rooms, and each one became cozy in a special way. The master bedroom is decorated in shades of honey, dusty rose and coral. Pendant lamp E14, Bocci. Armchair, Dantone Home. Textile decoration, Vetrova Home. Parquet, Havwoods. Stucco, Orac Decor. Their shape and soft turquoise suede upholstery seemed to be created specifically for our living room. On the same day, I receive an SMS from the customer that she found the storefronts of her dreams. Fortunately, we were talking about the same thing. Such mutual understanding arose at the first meeting and intensified every day, because not only the interior, but also the customers themselves changed during the repair process. In my opinion, this is partly the task of the designer. We should not just choose an item, but explain to customers its uniqueness and show all the interesting things that are being created in the world. Buying incredibly comfortable and concise chairs for the kitchen, we remembered the story of Afra and Tobia Scarpa, who invented them in 1986. And when choosing a mirror in the hall, we discussed the contrast of Murano glass and clear modern lines of the mirror. Yes, this approach takes a little more time, but in the final it allows you to hear the phrase that any designer dreams of: “This is exactly what we wanted!”Designer Aizhana Kunaeva, AKKA Interiors studio, @akkainteriors, T. +7 (701-71) 1-94-77.
