Apartment in a classic style in the center of Moscow Design 17.02.2022 Designers Elena Gladkova and Anastasia Neshumova designed an apartment for the owner of the brand of exclusive author’s accessories and clothing Living room. Marble coffee table and chairs, vintage. Above the sofa is a painting by the artist Elena Petrova-Cinnabar, Milliart Gallery. Closets for clothes are hidden in the wall. Photo Nick Rudenko The founder of the brand of exclusive designer accessories and clothing addressed designers Elena Gladkova and Anastasia Neshumova from the MECHTA interiors bureau. She wanted the apartment to look like a Parisian-style fashion house — with a stylish interior, plenty of storage space for clothes and the opportunity to hold fashion shows for friends and guests. The concept of the “Paris apartment” could not be better suited to this place: the house stands on Prechistinka, in an elite area in the heart of historic Moscow. The sofa and two armchairs are the property of the customer. Lamps, Loft Design. Photo Nick Rudenko Corridor, fragment. On the floor there is a classic wooden parquet “herringbone”. The floor is made of several types of natural stone. In the center is onyx, with a more neutral gray marble at the edges. Photo Nick Rudenko “There was a typical renovation of the 1990s, very high-quality, but, unfortunately, completely irrelevant—” the authors of the project say. – Understated plasterboard ceilings of several levels and a round wall cut into the living room hid the true volumes of the premises. It was decided to get rid of everything superfluous and return the apartment to its original features.” Canteen. Vintage chairs from the sale perfectly fit the old master’s marble table from the 1990s. The chest of drawers was also bought on sale. On the chest of drawers is the work of the artist Inna Varma, Milliart Gallery. Photo Nick Rudenko Dining room, fragment. Photo Nick Rudenko Dining room, fragment. The ceilings are almost four meters plus an additional 12 square meters to the area of the apartment, which were sewn in rounded boxes and niches! A real luxury!” The dining room is combined with the living room and forms a single bright space with walls decorated with moldings. On the right is a built-in wardrobe. Photo Nick Rudenko The designers decided that a classic style would suit this house, reflecting the architecture of the old Moscow apartments on Prechistenka Street, but with modern details. The concept of the Paris fashion House had to be abandoned due to a number of changed circumstances, but the spirit of Paris and fashion continues to reign here. Table and chairs, IKEA. On the wall are the works of the artist Elena Dwyer, Milliart Gallery. Photo Nick Rudenko The kitchen is made to order. Photo Nick Rudenko Kitchen, fragment. Photo Nick Rudenko Due to the specifics of the type of activity of the hostess, there is a lot of thoughtful storage in the apartment for clothes and dressing rooms. For example, one of the walls in the living room is completely given over to cabinets (a showroom and a space for parties with a fashion show and champagne were originally planned here). When closed, they are invisible, since their doors are decorated with the same moldings as the walls. Office. The gray leather sofa was left from the previous furniture of the apartment. The painting above the sofa is a portrait of the 1960 Olympic champion, made by Tamir Radvan, ArtTamir. The coffee tables were bought on sale. Photo Nick Rudenko Office. Oak table, Dantone Nome. The walls are the color of coffee and milk in the living room and gray in the rest of the rooms are in harmony with brighter details: paintings by the customer (one of which belongs to the collection of the Pushkin Museum), Chinoiserie-style wallpaper, onyx and marble floors in the hallway, spectacular furnishings. The bedroom turned out to be gentle and cozy. The headboard of the bed was placed between two windows. Above it is the work of the artist Tatiana Badanina. This is one of 20 works of the same series “White Garden”, most of which are housed in the collection of the Pushkin Museum. Photo Nick Rudenko Bedroom, fragment.
