The customers, a mature couple who have been living together for many years, turned to designer Yulia Safonova with a request to create an interior in a classic style. But when viewing magazines together, it became clear that customers are closer to a restrained version of the Art Deco style.

The layout went to the designer in a ready-made form, it completely satisfied the customers, but some small but important changes still had to be made: increase the height of the doorways and raise the lintels to the ceiling cornice in the “front” part of the apartment. So the canvases began to be perceived as part of the decoration. With another niche in the corridor, they did exactly the opposite: they “disguised” it with a furniture facade that exactly repeats the color and shape of the molding on the walls. The radius wall caused a lot of trouble in choosing finishing materials and built-in furniture, but in the end it became an unusual and memorable detail of this interior.

“Even before the start of the project, the customer said that it would be very difficult for her to evaluate the unfinished interior, so she would not monitor the progress of work and go to the construction site. — says the author of the project. — We only discussed the key points: approved samples of doors, tiles, parquet, furniture, coordinated sketches. During the construction, she really never appeared at the facility and saw the interior only after the repair was completed. I was very worried. Moreover, she categorically did not like the sample of the mosaic panel in the bathroom and the fragment of the “stone” panel in the hallway. “But I’ll trust you,” she said. Now the customer recalls with a laugh that it was these elements in the finished interior that made the brightest impression on her.”

One of the wishes of the customers was a folding table in the living room, at which all relatives and friends would fit. A spectacular Moooi chandelier was hung above it, which sets the tone for the entire room. “It illuminates only itself, but at the same time creates an amazing atmosphere, especially in the evening,” says the designer.

The kitchen room is clearly visible from the living room. The kitchen is very compact (the owners of the house do not cook much), but everything you need is available here. It turned out to be small, but at the same time functional, beautiful and comfortable.

The customers asked to equip them with separate bedrooms, combining one of them with the function of a study. In the hostess’s room, the lack of symmetry was compensated by a mirror canvas covering the entire height of the room. And the niche on the next wall was decorated as a doorway — it turned out to be a very roomy filing cabinet, not at all similar in appearance to the cabinet.

The second bedroom is made in more dramatic, enveloping shades. The color scheme of this room is designed in the general color palette of the apartment.

The bathroom was made emphatically ceremonial. It is decorated with mosaic panels and inserts of large-format ceramics framed by corian moldings. The idea to use a mosaic panel lay on the surface: the radius wall leaves not so many finishing options. The customers wanted to see the bath certainly free-standing and with a classic mixer-“telephone”. Such a “Hollywood” bath leaves few people indifferent and, most importantly, the customer is very pleased.

The same technique — a combination of molding and large—format ceramic panels – but in a different material, the designers repeated in the guest bathroom, it turned out to be more graphic, “masculine”.

A granddaughter-a schoolgirl who lives in another city loves to come to visit the owners. For this reason, the guest room was designed more like a nursery. The girl is seriously engaged in music, so the piano appeared here (by the way, everyone owns a musical instrument in the family).
