“This is not the first time we have worked with the owner of this apartment, located on the Savvinskaya Embankment. The customer clearly understood how she wanted to see her new home. “I want to wake up in the morning and look at the water as if I’m on board a yacht” — we received such a technical task,” says designer Ksenia Mezentseva.

“The apartment is located in the old foundation — in a beautiful building from 1957. The space was originally divided into a kitchen-living room, directly opposite which there was a bathroom, and a separate bedroom with a wardrobe. After the redevelopment, we allocated the kitchen into a separate space bordering the combined living-dining room. A room with a large balcony window was given as a bedroom and a separate spacious dressing room and bathroom were organized.”

“In the decoration, we preferred natural materials and light shades. I really like to smooth corners and use arches. They soften the space and give it femininity. In this project, we made arched openings in the corridor connecting the private part of the apartment and the living room. This technique makes the space more architectural and interesting, special in combination with a monochrome color scheme. In the bedroom we used an arch in the frame of the bed. Here it has not only an aesthetic purpose, but also a functional one — the arch separates the bed from the entrance to the room and creates niches for storage.”

The bookcase is made in American walnut veneer according to the designer’s sketches. Lamp Wand, Lampatron.

“The most unusual item in the interior was the “sofa in the window”, made according to our sketches. Our heroine is an active and very sociable girl, she likes to spend evenings with friends, so in the living room it was necessary to provide a sufficient number of places where they can comfortably settle down. I didn’t want to put chairs. The living room is quite compact, so an “extra” piece of furniture on the aisle would immediately catch the eye. A small sofa fits perfectly into the window opening — in old houses they are very deep. Its lower part serves as a shelf for books and magazines, of which our customer has a lot.”

The bed is made to order according to the designer’s sketches. Wall sconces, Ginger and Jagger. Porcelain plate, “LFZ”.

“In addition to the sofa, a huge built-in shelving attracts attention in the living room. Shelving is my other weakness. I love them very much and I think that the beautifully arranged decor looks incredibly aesthetically pleasing and creates a truly cozy atmosphere.”
