Beach house with pool in Nigeria Design 06.06.2022 CmDesign Atelier studio has designed a minimalistic holiday home away from civilization Photo Tolu Sanusi This beach house, located in the western part of the island of Lagos, was conceived as a place to relax away from the noise of the city. The silence and the local nature inspired the CmDesign Atelier studio to create a snow-white pavilion in which you can comfortably enjoy the seascape. “Every year the island is being built up more and more, but the site we got has not yet lost its pristine beauty. It was such an amazing experience when we walked from the lagoon shoreline to the beach and disturbed the butterflies that made this place their home,” says Tosin Oshinowo, founder of the studio. The space smoothly turns into a coral-pink concrete terrace with a swimming pool and a seating area under a wooden canopy. Another terrace is organized on the roof, where a white “floating” staircase leads. At the back of the pavilion, which is closed from the wind by a perforated partition, there is a kitchen and bathrooms. The green supports of the dining table and chairs in mustard-yellow upholstery refer to the lush foliage of palm trees, the coral-pink terrace merges with the color of the sandy shore, and the blue sun loungers by the pool seem to reflect the clear sky.
