Apartment in Krasnodar. The project of Alexander Dubrovin.

The customer is a young guy working in the IT field who loves minimalism and black. This is exactly how he wanted to see the interior of his future apartment — a small apartment with an area of 50 sq. m. meters in the new residential complex of Krasnodar.

In order to maximize the use of useful space, designer Alexander Dubrovin made a large common space combining the kitchen, living room and sleeping area, isolating only the most necessary: a bathroom and a dressing room. Most of this room is occupied by the kitchen-living room, and the owner sleeps on a folding bed, which hides in the closet during the day.

The interior is decorated in shades of black with accents of gray and bright red. The ceiling and the wall on which the window in the living room is located are made light, which creates a pleasant contrast to the eye and visually expands a small space.

The kitchen is decorated like a black cube: all the furniture, walls and ceiling are painted in the same color. In the center there is a large island that serves as a dining table. Laconic track lamps of silver color are installed for lighting.

Bright red details allow you to add colors to the monochrome interior: chairs, a kitchen mixer and a designer spinning top chair. “Initially, the customer refused too flashy red chairs, replacing them with black ones,” the author of the project shares. — But by mistake (or, rather, by a happy accident) the wrong model was delivered to us. In the end, I still managed to convince the client to choose exactly the chairs that I wanted from the very beginning. And it was the right decision!”
