The first steps in the work on this interior were made back in 2019, and the construction was carried out in 2020. The implementation took 10 months, taking into account a 1.5-month freeze during the pandemic. The project itself has been waiting in the wings for about a year: the customer changed the apartment, and then we adapted it to the new layout.

The owner works in the banking sector. She dreamed of a relaxed atmosphere, a comfortable space for receiving guests and spacious storage systems. We conducted the project from beginning to end: after visiting the construction site two or three times, the customer received the keys to the apartment and moved in the same week.

Already at the first glance at the layout, I noticed an unreasonably large hallway — it occupied almost a quarter of the apartment. We changed its area, giving part of it to the entrance area, increasing the guest bathroom and significantly expanding the living room. It turned out to be a very comfortable and logical space with a division into common and private zones. The hostess likes to receive guests, so the living room with a dining area and a spacious kitchen attached to it correspond to her lifestyle.

The bedrooms (adult and children’s) remained in their dimensions, and we combined the main bathroom, placing in it a spacious closet with ASKO home laundry. In the nursery, the color of the walls was especially successful. Brick-pink, combined with a wide white edging at the ceiling, it becomes an ideal background for light wooden furniture and the games of its little mistress.

In this project I wanted to work with nuances and textures. We carefully chose the shades of paint, upholstery and finishes. The shape of doors, platbands, baseboards is as simple as possible, but in order to add expressiveness to the space, in some rooms we used relief on the walls. With minimal budget costs, this technique gives a wonderful result. In this project, he appeared, for example, in the hallway and in the living room behind the sofa.

Special attention should be paid to decorative light. In the bedroom, classic Flowerpot VP1 from & Tradition are responsible for it, the guest bathroom and the nursery are decorated with Aromas del Campo suspensions, the House Doctor lamp is located above a small dining table in the kitchen, and Savoir Design table lamps are located on both sides of the sofa. But my unconditional love is the Catellani & Smith chandelier above the dining table. It’s hard to convey the thrill of unpacking it!

The height of the roughing fell during the pandemic. And even though it seriously shifted the deadlines, the forced pause in work allowed us to reflect on the details longer. We did everything to preserve the original concept and stay within budget in difficult conditions. So, we had to abandon the Italian tiles in the kitchen, but in response to this challenge, we developed an author’s drawing of cutting and laying ceramics from a domestic manufacturer.

In general, most of the finishing materials and interior items were invented and manufactured in Russia: these are cement tiles, parquet, upholstered and cabinet furniture. It was very pleasant to work with the textile brand the.DOT.home, reviving local manufacturing. Their sky-blue jacquard linen in the living room became the main color accent and perfectly complemented the atmosphere of the seaside.
