This apartment is located in a prestigious area of Turin, the development of which took place in the post-war years. There are many houses of that time preserved here — quite strong and sound, but with an outdated layout and not too suitable for modern life. The owners of these apartments — a young couple — purchased two such small apartments and asked the architects of the Quarta & Armando studio to combine them into one large one, creating all the conditions for a comfortable life for a young family with plans for replenishment.

They wanted to get a bright, open, air-filled space that could adapt to different needs and with the expectation that children would appear in the house in the future.

The architects managed to combine two apartments so that the boundaries between them are not felt. The space turned out to be whole and organic. The heart of the house is a large living room combined with a dining room. Thanks to the large windows and white walls, this room is literally flooded with light. The main place is reserved for a large sofa group, which can easily accommodate a large company, and in the future — a large family with children during family screenings.

From the private area, in which there is an office, a bedroom and a bathroom, the living room is separated by a marble partition and a large sliding door from floor to ceiling.

The dining room decor consists of a six-seater table with a whitewashed wooden top, laconic plastic chairs and a white chest of drawers located along the wall. Interesting details like Chinese engravings on the wall and a designer table lamp add liveliness and comfort to this area.

The kitchen turned out to be not the largest, but it has everything you need both for receiving guests and for daily routine. The designers have provided a functional kitchen island, which turns into a bar area — a place for quick breakfasts and evening gatherings with a glass of wine. Kitchen cabinets without handles are made in the color of the walls of the room, in the general minimalist style of the interior.

The private area is made in the same light color scheme and minimalist style as the common part of the apartment. Here you can also find oriental details like engravings on the wall and a wooden bedside table in the style of Chinese furniture of the XIX century.

In the bathroom there was a place for a free-standing bathtub, and for a shower cabin, finished with gray tiles under concrete. A spectacular detail is an unusual chandelier in the form of drops, which adds a “zest” to the strict interior.
