Bright apartment in a 1920s house in Madrid Design 18.03.2022 Estudio Reciente studio has created a modern interior where color plays the main role Photo Erman Sais Estudio Reciente Studio has designed an apartment located on the third floor of a unique Madrid house. The building was built in 1927 according to the project of the representative of the Spanish Art Nouveau Luis Ferrero. Nevertheless, the main source of inspiration for the architects was the bright interiors of the modernist villa Sonneveld House (Rotterdam, 1930). Photo Erman Sais The original layout of the apartment included two small rooms, a dining room, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The studio used a more modern approach and created a spacious public area, which, unlike other spaces, is made in a neutral light beige shade. Metal columns painted in bright yellow color bring colors to the interior. In the box itself there is a refrigerator, an oven and storage space. The dining area, which is hidden behind a dense red curtain, is emphasized by blue chairs and a three-dimensional lamp. The ceiling is made in the same color as the walls of the room, but with a glossy coating that reflects light from a large window overlooking the courtyard. In the bedroom, color also became the main character. Here, the blue shade of the carpet is combined with custom-made green cabinets, and terracotta bed linen echoes the burgundy bedside tables. The architects chose a light yellow shade as the background, which creates an atmosphere of calm and tranquility. Photo Erman Sais Photo Erman Sais Photo Erman Sais Original content from the site
