Yucubedesign Studio has created a stylish interior filled with color, vintage objects and original details

“The owners of this apartment, a married couple with a child, were initially ready for non-standard solutions, which we used to the maximum. The starting point in the creation of the project was the customer’s suede cap of a reddish-ochre shade and his love for the “Mini Cooper”. Yes, it happens!”, — designers Yulia Denskevich and Yulia Ermakova tell.

“The apartment is located in a former apartment building built in 1913. Initially, it was a so—called comb – a space with a narrow corridor and small rooms facing one side of the street. In this case, we were lucky: there was not a single load-bearing wall in the apartment. We expanded the corridor, turned three rooms into two — a spacious master bedroom and a nursery. Allocated a place for a bathroom without violating historical boundaries. The bathroom also remained in place of the previous one, but the entrance to it is now located on the other side. The rest of the square was given over to the kitchen-living room. Since there is a gas stove in the kitchen, we separated it with sliding glass doors.”

“Also, the main space is divided by a spectacular partition. The complex relief, rounded edges and wooden plinth — all this was not easy to implement, but the result was worth it. On the side of the sofa, we entered a niche for a TV into the partition, and placed a panel on the side of the dining area. In addition, we managed to organize several more accent areas in the living room: hanging modules with decorative blue mirrors and a vintage sideboard that has undergone an upgrade.”

“The interior is based on a combination of classical and modern techniques. In the hall, a tiled carpet and stucco decorations are adjacent to a green accent wall, which “holds” the composition with an unusual chest of drawers and a mirror. We used a similar technique in the living room: a sitting area with a dark green sofa is emphasized by an ochre-red fresco framed by a decorative portal. By the way, the portal appeared due to the fact that we have allocated an office in a separate niche. The cabinet is marked with a solid blue block.”

“Shades of blue also appear in the kitchen design. We deliberately abandoned the upper cabinets, due to which we have an incredibly beautiful accent wall made of natural quartzite and a hood in a brass box, which is made according to our sketches.”

“The main “feature” of the bedroom was the headboard of the bed. It is a functional storage system with open compartments, clearly designed for the dimensions of gadgets, and is complemented by a removable metal rod with cushions on leather straps.”

“The first thing that attracts attention in the nursery is an unusual color scheme. Bright red color harmoniously combines with delicate turquoise shades and a black-and-white print on the wallpaper, which highlights the sleep zone. One of the main accents in the interior was the striped table leg — we not only designed it ourselves, but also painted it.”

“The bathroom also turned out to be very spectacular. Here the main role is played by pure ultramarine combined with classic Bordeaux. The space is clearly divided into three parts: a sink area, a laundry unit with a convenient storage system and a shower room. The latter is decorated with the inscription “H2O”, directly referring to water procedures.”
