“This apartment, located in a quiet alley in the area of Tsvetnoy Boulevard, belongs to a middle—aged couple,” says designer Andrey Nekrasov. — The customer has always dreamed of living in the center, so when the children grew up and left, the couple decided to buy and equip a new apartment. They imagined their new home to be bright, respectable and cozy. Therefore, we immediately chose modern classics as the main stylistic direction: the interior turned out to be concise in a European way, without “merchant” luxury – just as the customers wanted.”

“The apartment is located above non-residential premises, we had the opportunity to make a large redevelopment. In particular, we have swapped the private and public areas: now the living room and kitchens “look” at the street, and the bedroom is in a quiet courtyard. In the hallway we made a niche for a wardrobe, in the bedroom we organized a dressing room that can serve as an office. A shower room was added to the bathroom, a washing machine and dryer were placed in a niche, and most of the space was allocated for a relaxation area — with a free-standing bathroom and a window.”

“In the interior design, we used classic elements — plaster moldings and high cornices — which emphasize the location of the apartment in the historical center of the city. The palette is based on nuances of color — complex pearl and ash shades with neat inclusions of mustard and brass.”

“The heart of the apartment was the kitchen-living room. There is a lot of built-in furniture in the living room area. So that it does not “crush” with its mass, we combined blind and glazed facades. The TV area was allocated with a wood veneer in the “butterfly” layout, the shade of which echoes the color of the parquet on the floor.”

“The kitchen turned out to be compact, but at the same time roomy: we managed to find a place for all the necessary equipment behind the facades, including two full-size refrigerators. To increase the storage volume, we added a third, “mezzanine” module to the kitchen.”

“When designing the bedroom, our reference was a conditional room in an expensive hotel — calm and cozy. Coral-printed wallpaper and botanical-patterned textiles helped us create the right atmosphere.”

“The most interesting space in this apartment, in our opinion, is the dressing room. Firstly, it also serves as a study. Secondly, in the design of cabinets, we combined several techniques at once. One part of the facades is decorated with slats, the other with mirrors. We also covered some of the doors with wallpaper, so that the cabinets merge with the surface of the walls.”
