Country house in the Moscow region: modern classics Design 01.12.2022 This three—storey country house in the Moscow region is a project of Vladislava Gravchikova This project had its own peculiarity — the absence of specific wishes. I was given only one task — to create a “light interior with classic elements”. Living room. Armchair, Bernhardt. Photo Sergey Ananyev On the one hand, unlimited possibilities for creativity opened up, on the other — it is very difficult to come up with an interior without any input data. I wanted to avoid the feeling of a “universal home”. It is clear that there should be a basic set of rooms, their convenience and functionality are in the first place. But, in my opinion, as there are no average people, so there should be no neutral interiors. Photo Sergey Ananyev The interior is obliged to evoke emotions. There should be places in it that you want to tell or show to your guests, and at the same time, secluded cozy corners where you can sit with a book or just be alone with yourself. When I first came to this three-storey country house, I appreciated the large number of windows. This slightly complicated the task of planning the premises, but it created an incredible feeling of space permeated with air. A fragment of the kitchen. The facades are made of natural oak according to the designer’s sketches. Table and chairs, Hooker furniture. Wallpaper, BoråsTapeter. Photo Sergey Ananyev As there are no average people, so there should be no neutral interiors This became a source of inspiration for me. The interior design uses various decorative mirror panels, brass and wallpaper with a silver pattern, giving a slight flicker — all this filled the rooms with sunlight even more. Velvet of light sandy shades has the same effect, from which the edging on curtains and bedspreads is made. Hall. The doors are made to order. Chandeliers, Visual Comfort & Co. Console, Bernhardt. Wallpaper, GP & J Baker. Photo Sergey Ananyev The precise geometry of the lines, which can be traced in window bindings, in the decoration of furniture and decorative partitions, in the pattern on carpets, marble floor slabs and wall panels, helped to set the rhythm of the interior. Photo Sergey Ananyev To make it more graphic, I used a lot of black, softening it with warm shades of gray, milky, blue and rowan red. It seemed important to me to emphasize that the house is located outside the city, which is why there is so much natural wood in the interior, especially oak. Floors, kitchen facades, bookshelves and a library are made of it. View of the kitchen from the living room. The doors are made to order. Wallpaper, BoråsTapeter. Table and chairs, Hooker furniture. Chandelier, designed by E.F. Chapman, Visual Comfort & Co. Photo Sergey Ananyev Another plus is the high ceilings. They allowed us to install double-leaf front doors with transom. They open the suite leading from the hall through the living room to the dining room. Many decorative solutions were dictated by functionality. For example, in one of the bedrooms there was not a single wall to which a bed could be placed — windows were cut everywhere. For more graphic, I used a lot of black, softening it with warm shades of gray and rowan-red Office. Bookshelves and wall panels are made according to the designer’s sketches. Table and chairs, Hooker furniture. Lamps, Visual Comfort & Co. Photo Sergey Ananyev I had to come up with a partition that simultaneously acts as a headboard, separates the bedroom area from the dressing room and bathroom, and on the back side there is a mirror and a dressing table attached to it. The clear geometry of the lines in the bindings of the windows, in the pattern of the carpet and the decoration of the furniture set the rhythm of the interior Bedroom. Wallpaper, Sole & Son. Carpet, Nuloon. Bed, Emerson Bentley. Bedside tables with mirrored tabletop, Hooker furniture. Chest of drawers and armchair, Caracole. Textiles, Loffilab. Photo Sergey Ananyev A lot of things in this house are made according to my sketches, starting from plaster cornices and furniture and ending with a fireplace and a drawing on marble slabs in the bathrooms. So the interior, in my opinion, turned out to be very personal and individual. And this is the main thing in my work. Bathroom.
