Cut ‘n Paste: a collection of cardboard items from Seletti and Annebeth Philips

Black and white chandeliers-candelabra, lamps, clocks, mirrors, frames, shelves — and all this is made of recycled cardboard and scotch tape.

The basis for any layout — cardboard and tape – actually turned out to be very useful for the final result. Designer Annebet Philips jokingly combined “rough” materials and created familiar interior items, without which no house can do: the Cut ‘n Paste collection includes a chandelier, hanging and table lamps, wall clocks, mirrors, frames and shelves.

The products turned out to be light not only visually, but also literally: the wall frames, shelves, and even the chandelier turned out to be almost weightless. “And the contrasting tape-tape gives them an expressive graphic look”” Annebet notes. In continuation of the theme with the “layout”, a black-and-white combination is associated with a momentary sketch for the project. But the objects are much stronger and more durable than they seem: for this purpose they were specially coated with a thin epoxy layer.

Cut ‘n Paste, released in a limited edition, has now become part of the Seletti collections. “I immediately fell in love with Annebet’s work,” says Stefano Celetti, the brand’s art director. — I thought they were perfect for us. They carry the lightness that is not only material, but also conceptual. In addition, the fact that they can be produced from recycled cardboard makes them a kind of statement — we, as a company, can do everything together with designers to solve the issue of environmental sustainability””
