I came to take measurements with a client, after all the cases we decided to take a walk around the village and got caught in a terrible downpour. We hid under the visor of a construction shed, and then I saw him. The building was brand new — the builders were just finishing the roof. I watched the house for a couple of months, when suddenly the previous owner put the plot up for sale. His plans changed dramatically, and he and his family moved to Sochi. So this handsome man became ours. Photo Natalia Gorbunova The console is custom-made according to the designer’s sketches. Decor, Zara Home. Photo Natalia Gorbunova Designing a house for myself, I wanted to try everything that few people agree to. For example, to make the building completely black — both inside and outside. Many are afraid of dark shades, but in fact they can be very cozy. All our guests say that we are warm, like at home at Grandma’s. Even my husband changed his mind about the dark palette, but more on that later. The kitchen is made to order according to the designer’s sketches. Vase, Buro30. Photo Natalia Gorbunova Office. Photo Natalia Gorbunova When I first entered the house, I was stunned — there was so much air in the space. The rooms on the first floor are arranged in a circle — in practice, this turned out to be a very convenient solution. The master bedroom occupies a separate block with a wardrobe and a bathroom, and on the second floor there is a guest room and a gym. View of the bedroom. The painting is a blank canvas. A sufficiently large area and an impressive ceiling height obliged the use of voluminous pieces of furniture and decor. On the central wall there is a painting of the size of 1.80 x 1.80 cm . I wrote it myself, and believe me, pulling such a canvas on a frame is a whole adventure. But the main decoration of the living room and, perhaps, the whole house is a huge snag. We brought her by boat. I completely cleaned it, sanded it and covered it with black paint. Shower room. The console is custom-made according to the designer’s sketches. Hanging lamps, Eglo. There are panoramic windows on opposite sides of the island, so that the space is always filled with light and different colors — depending on the time of day. Photo Natalia Gorbunova There is an office next to the kitchen. Initially, I thought of wallpapering it, but because of the height of the ceilings, I abandoned this idea and asked the famous artist of our city, Tatiana Kudrina, to paint one of the walls based on English wallpaper. It turned out very effectively. The coffee tables are made according to the designer’s sketches. Glasses, Lalique. Photo Natalia Gorbunova The bedroom was originally white — this was the only wish of the spouse. But exactly a month later, I couldn’t stand it and completely repainted it in a day. I don’t remember the feeling — everything is in a fog. Going into the bedroom, the husband said: “Wow, how good. Why didn’t you talk me out of it right away?” I’m telling you, many people are more comfortable in dark rooms. Photo Natalia Gorbunova Original content from the site
