Rebuilding her country house, singer Anita Tsoi filled it with music and air

Our first house appeared on this place twenty-five years ago. Large, wooden and, as we thought, very beautiful. We chose a large plot of land, divided it among several friends and started the project without having any experience in construction.

The housewarming coincided with the New Year, and when I woke up in the morning, I noticed wisps of smoke from under the foundation. I only managed to grab the child and wake up the guests when a real fire started — the builders violated all safety standards when laying chimneys. The only thing they managed to save was the refrigerator, which friends pushed out of the back entrance in the kitchen. How I worried afterwards — it would have been better to remove the crystal chandelier!

On the third floor, under the dome, there is a space in which a bedroom, a private living room and a home studio of the singer with all the necessary equipment are combined. A sofa, a marble table with a built-in bio-fireplace Planika, a work desk and a dressing room system in the background are made to order according to the designer’s sketches. Carpet, Art de Vivre.

So while waiting for the firemen, we sat in cars and ate salads. Laughter through tears. I was terribly worried, but my husband said that there is a Korean sign that a new house is on fire — fortunately. I probably came up with it, but we have started construction again and have been living in these walls for more than twenty years. Or rather, in part of them, because I started rebuilding that second house four years ago.

The entrance to the kitchen is located on the axis of the living room. Anita is a great cook, so the kitchen, Bulthaup, is equipped to the maximum. The stacked ceiling is finished with split oak.

As in creativity, sometimes I feel cramped in the old shell, and I want to be in silence, in a new place, to start, if not from the beginning, then from scratch. I turned my house into such a “white sheet”. I had to demolish part of the walls, add a winter garden, expand the windows — I can’t imagine how we used to live with small windows.

The dining room can accommodate up to sixteen guests. In summer, tents are set up in the garden for large companies. The Palissandro Bluette marble table is made according to a sketch by designer Natalia Solo. Chairs, Longhi. Pendant lights, Newport. On the wall is a painting “The Game” by Timur Akhmedov.

By analogy with the preparation of the show, I prefer to trust the pros I work with. I have known interior designer Natalia Solo for several years. We started with the design of an office and an apartment for my son. I realized that she shares my tastes — I like eco-friendly and at the same time very advanced interiors. A neutral, natural palette of colors, a lot of wooden details, natural materials and greenery — after constant flights, it is very important to “ground yourself”. At the same time, technical perfection should be at its height: in this house there is a small spa area equipped with the latest technology. And, of course, the kitchen is almost professional. I love cooking, and for me it is one of the types of recreation.

The spiral staircase connecting the two floors of the spa area is made of metal, glass and acrylic stone, the wall on the left is finished with oak veneer.

The husband jokingly calls the new house a “geisha house”. On the third floor I made my own personal space — there is also an office with music equipment so as not to disturb anyone, and a living room under a glass lantern. The builders swore for a long time — after all, I had to redo the entire roof, but it’s important for me to feel the sky above my head. After all, this is what I recorded my first song “Flight” in 1996.

The winter garden was one of Anita Tsoi’s wishes. Custom sofa, armchairs, Lema. Landscaping of this room, as well as the whole house, has just begun and is being carried out according to Lid’s Eventhouse project.
