Photo Mikhail Loskutov designer Lera Brumina Photo Mikhail Loskutov The space with three windows is very logically divided into three rooms: a bedroom, a kitchen-living room and an office. The study is separated from the living room by a glass partition, so visually this space is perceived as one. In the part of the apartment where there is no natural light, there is a bathroom and a storage area. Wall lamp, DCW. Mosaic, Winckelmans. The kitchen is made to order according to the designer’s sketches. Photo Mikhail Loskutov Despite the fact that the apartment is located in a new residential complex, and the space is devoid of any expressive architectural features, I wanted the interior to have its own character, and not just be new and minimalistic. Therefore, details are especially important: vintage armchairs in the living room upholstered with new fabric, a wall lamp in the kitchen, the design of which was created in the 50s by French designer Jacques Biny, brass elements, bright posters and paintings, textured materials, accent colors. Photo Mikhail Loskutov The customers wanted a concise, but not ascetic interior, but rather a friendly and lively space. Since we immediately agreed that the interior should look easy, designer Lera Brumina tried not to overload the space, avoiding unnecessary elements and giving preference to built-in storage systems and free-standing items on legs. Colors and materials were also selected based on this task: light plaster, oak parquet, Metlakh mosaic tiles of sandy hue, oak veneer, linen and sheep wool — together they create a soft background for bright accents. Photo Mikhail Loskutov The built-in elements are installed in niches, thereby preserving maximum space for life. The kitchen is located on the far wall of the living room, right at the entrance to the room, which makes the living room free and shifts the emphasis from the functional part of the room to the sofa area by the window. Thanks to the asymmetrical layout, the kitchen itself also looks like part of the living room decor. Bedroom. The bed is made to order according to the designer’s sketches. Photo Mikhail Loskutov The height of the repair came at the beginning of quarantine: the work was carried out in Moscow, the designer worked from Kiev. At some point, everything did not go as planned: the builders failed, the suppliers delayed all the deadlines. But after a short time, everyone learned how to work in new conditions and the project turned out the way it was intended. Bathroom. Wall lamp, Menu. Photo Mikhail Loskutov Mosaic, Winckelmans.
