The owner of this small apartment in Chelyabinsk is a young woman who appreciates comfort. Designers Aida and Ilya Tversky from the Tverskoy Architects architectural studio created a laconic interior for her, setting her up for creation and relaxation

The customer is a modern successful woman who appreciates practicality and comfort. She travels a lot and often lives abroad. From the very beginning of work on the project, she had a clear idea of what the future interior should be: modern, in warm colors, with high-quality furniture and natural, durable materials.

“The original layout was inconvenient and did not suit either us or the hostess,” the authors of the project say. – That’s why we built everything anew: we designed a spacious kitchen-living room and visually combined it with a small hallway. This filled the room with air, the space became brighter and more open. In addition, we have organized a roomy storage system that is hidden from the eyes and does not violate the brevity of the situation. The bedroom turned out to be small, but functional and designed exclusively for sleeping.”

To visually enlarge a small space, the designers decorated the walls, furniture and textiles in a single color palette. A complex beige-gray shade is used as the base. The smooth texture of the walls was complemented with relief plaster panels, onyx inserts and built-in open shelving in the color of the main background. And they decided to finish the floor with an engineering board of contrasting dark brown color. Against this background, ochre accents and graphic details (electrics, furniture, art objects) look especially impressive.

“We have created several lighting scenarios that meet the needs of the customer,” the designers say. – The main overhead light is organized with the help of built-in and overhead lamps, suspensions over the table and sconces are for local lighting, and the muted illumination of the shelves and ceiling creates a softer and more cozy atmosphere. We tried to place a minimum of ceiling lights, and in the bedroom we completely abandoned the overhead light, only placed sconces for reading and diffuse illumination.”

The main focus in the combined kitchen-living room – round graphic picture: it completes the composition of the dining area and supports the geometry of the table and hanging lamps. The whole space is built on a combination of simple and understandable forms.

The kitchen design uses a contrasting combination of light, matte facades in the color of coffee with milk and dark, glossy chocolate colors. Thanks to this solution, the kitchen area looks visually solid, and the dining area on its background is expressive. The onyx texture on the apron is repeated in the wall decoration behind the sofa in the living room.

The central place in the bedroom is occupied by a bed with a wide soft headboard in the color of the walls. Asymmetrical decor with brass inserts on the wall and ocher-colored textile wall panels add dynamics to the space. The combination of natural and tactile textures fills the sleeping area with an atmosphere of calm and comfort. The bedroom turned out to be small, but there was a place for a compact dressing table with a mirror and lighting.

Porcelain stoneware with a travertine texture is used in the decoration of the walls and floor of the bathroom. Storage systems are equipped along the walls, which are hidden from the eyes and visually do not overload the space. The washing machine is built into the cabinet under the sink.

All the built-in furniture in the hallway is painted in the color of the walls, which supports the laconic style of the entire apartment. A floor-to-ceiling mirror adds light and visually expands the space. On the floor there is a spectacular tile with a cubic 3D pattern, which exactly repeats the textures used in the interior.
