Pink Graffiti on Iconic Vipp Items Design 18.02.2022 French artist Andre Saraiva decorated the kitchen and the garbage container of the Danish brand Vipp with bright murals in the style of street art. The Danish company Vipp is known for its technological dumpster designed by Holger Nielsen in 1939. Today, the brand is developing a furniture direction and actively cooperates with artists and designers. The new Vipp collaboration began when French artist Andre Saraiva ordered pink versions of Vipp Bin from the company for the interior of his Amour Paris hotel. “We decided to go further and ask Andre to make a “love injection” not only for Vipp Bin, but also for the minimalist V1 kitchen,” the curators of the project explain. The intervention completely transformed the objects: Saraiva used his ”signature” pink color and painted a steel kitchen island and a cylindrical container with fervent graffiti on a love theme. “Since the container was originally conceived for my hotel, it was named The Amour Bin,” says the artist. – This name seemed to me even more successful when I learned that this object with an eighty-year history is a real child of love”” Indeed, the container was created by Nielsen at the request of his wife Maria, who needed a convenient trash basket for her beauty salon.
