To emphasize the stunning views, the bedroom was arranged on a podium. But this is not the only feature of the interior. For example, by placing a mirror in the hallway, the apartments look literally twice as large. And there is also a false window, which is located between the bedroom and the kitchen.

Customer and tasks 

These apartments in the Moscow City skyscraper were designed by the owner for subsequent rental. The design was entrusted to Margarita Posukhova. It was necessary to design a presentable but practical space. To equip a full-fledged sleeping area, which would be convenient to use. It was also important to make as many viewpoints on the city as possible. 

Layout

The apartment was open-plan with a dedicated bathroom. To arrange all the necessary zones, the designer proposed to build several partitions. 

So, the kitchen was placed behind the wall from the bathroom. She was given a small area. With the help of a partition with niches for cabinets, the bedroom was separated. Between the kitchen and the bedroom, a window was built into the partition so natural light gets into the kitchen. The bedroom area is located on a raised podium opposite the windows. The podium is not only an additional storage system, but also an element that allows you to admire sunrises, sunsets and views of the city from the bed. By raising the floor level, the views do not overlap the sofa and armchairs. 

A small dining area was located in the corridor, which is also a view point. Specially selected bar stools and set the table at a height so that nothing overlaps the view. Of course, the main view opens from the living room area. It is located directly at the windows. 

Finishing

A light gray shade of paint was chosen for the walls. The cool tone helps to visually enlarge the space, acts as a “reflector” of natural light from large windows. Quartz vinyl is laid on the floor under a tree. A practical material that is not afraid of water, dirt and mechanical loads. Since the apartment was being built for rent, practicality still played an important role. Quartz vinyl was laid with a herringbone, adding a touch of classics to the interior. 

Panels were also used in the decoration of the walls, they allocated a TV area and a dining table in the corridor. A large wall mirror was hung in front of the dining area. If you look from the entry point, it seems that the apartment looks twice as big all thanks to the mirror. 

In the bathroom, large-format porcelain stoneware under onyx was used in the shower area. And the background porcelain stoneware beige and brown, which decorated the walls. The floor is also porcelain stoneware with a natural texture. 

Furniture and storage systems

Due to the construction of partitions for the bedroom, it was possible to fit two sufficiently spacious closets from the bedroom and corridor side. There is another built-in wardrobe in the hallway. Inside the podium, storage was also organized, it turned out to be something like a pantry. 

The kitchen has a compact set, the main bases with built-in appliances are placed linearly. The corner part serves as a dining group so that you can have a snack right in the kitchen without going out into the corridor. 

In form, the furniture is rather modern. But with a slight touch of Art Deco and luxury, which the designer wanted to add, given the unique location of the apartments. Velour was used in upholstered furniture, as well as in fabrics, not only beautiful, but also practical. Small objects have chairs, a table, a console with golden bases. 

Lighting

The scenarios of light are thought out at different levels. These are spotlights, and a large chandelier on the ceiling in the living room, and suspensions over the dining area of the kitchen and in the bathroom over the sink, and sconces in the kitchen, over the bed and next to the second dining area in the hallway. A significant role is also played by the lights that the designer has provided for the steps of the podium, mirrors in the corridor and in the bathroom, hidden cornices.

The apartments are designed in such a way as to maximize the beautiful view from the 75th floor. The bedroom was made on the podium, so the sofa and armchairs do not block the view. You can isolate the sleeping place with a light tulle. There is glass between the bedroom and the kitchen so that light enters the kitchen, but no smells from the kitchen come into the bedroom. In the corridor there is a bar counter at a height that will give you the opportunity to enjoy beautiful sunsets. A large mirror in the hallway increases the space and also reflects the view from the window. The project is made in a modern style with brass accents in order to emphasize the prestige of the interior, because the apartment is located in Moscow City. We have focused on bohemianism, but at the same time we have kept a modern style so that the interior corresponds to the building in which it is located.
