The successful initial layout made it possible to almost not change the original space in order to make a comfortable interior for a family of three and their pet. 

Customers and tasks 

This apartment belongs to a married couple with an adult daughter. When they were just thinking over the interior design, the daughter was already planning to live separately. But, looking ahead, after the second room (guest room) was equipped, she decided to stay with her parents so she liked it. 

Interior design was handled by designer Evgenia Pestova. According to the author of the project, it was important to take into account the exterior of neighboring houses, which are visible from large windows. Bright facades were not supposed to create disharmony in the new interior. In terms of functionality, it was necessary to solve quite traditional tasks: to design the master bedroom, the guest room (as it is already clear, it became the daughter’s room), to think over storage systems, to make a workplace in the living room, but so that it does not stand out and does not create a utilitarian atmosphere. 

Redevelopment

The designer calls the initial layout successful. The entrance is in the center of the apartment and the logical division of space into general and private on the left and right sides, respectively. According to the plan from the developer, there were three rooms, a kitchen, a large bathroom, a small bathroom and a dressing room attached to the bedroom. However, the author of the project managed to make the layout even more convenient for customers.

So, the kitchen and living room were combined and a spacious common area was created. The window block of the loggia, which is adjacent to the living room, was replaced with a sliding glass partition. There they arranged a winter garden with an open partition, it “enters” the apartment and enlivens it. 

The bathroom was enlarged due to the corridor, organizing more storage space. Also, due to the corridor, a utility closet with a laundry area was allocated. Due to the dressing room and partially the corridor, a common pantry was decorated. But the master bedroom was not left without a dressing room, reducing the area of the bedroom itself, they allocated a storage area that connects to the room with a sliding glass partition. 

Finishing

Paint was chosen for wall decoration. The basis is light shades, but in some areas dark colors were used, they add the desired accent. So, the wall opposite the sofa in the living room is highlighted in blue. A furniture structure with a work table is built on this wall, so the designer “deepened” the space. The wall of the corridor next to the kitchen and the hallway are decorated in the same color. 

In the master bedroom, the main shades are gray, and the wall behind the headboard and the dressing room are also decorated in blue, decorative textured plaster was used as decoration. Opposite the bed, the wall was painted with projector paint to watch movies in a convenient format.

The daughter’s room has light walls decorated with moldings. 

Several types of tiles were used in the bathrooms. The master’s room is decorated with large-format granite stone and mosaic.

Guest in a more modern way. There they combined plain blue tiles and ceramics with a geometric pattern. “The customer liked the small tiles 10×10, 15×15. But it did not fit into the master bathroom and did not correspond to the entire concept of the interior. And then the idea was born to make an unusual guest bathroom with a sink for a pet in this tile. The blue color of the walls from the hallway enters the guest bathroom and repeats in the blue tile, the floor of the hallway and bathroom is made of the same granite, this allowed not to divide the space into small rooms, to make it one,” the designer comments. 

Storage systems 

Storage was thought out carefully. So, in the hallway there is a wardrobe for outerwear. There is a utility block with access from the corridor and a laundry room. The master bedroom has its own small dressing room, as well as a chest of drawers. The daughter’s room has a built-in wardrobe and shelves next to the window, where the workplace is equipped. 

In the living room, as requested by the owners, they made a workplace. We have thought out a design that combines a desktop and open shelves. She hides a computer monitor with a “secret” in a niche and closes with a movable door. Thus, the monitor is not visible at those moments when it is not needed. In the same style, a TV stand. 

The corner kitchen with mezzanine modules accommodates all the necessary appliances and, of course, provides a lot of storage space. 

Lighting 

Spot lighting is implemented in the interior in the form of a basic scenario. Decorative is decorated in different ways. For example, there is a large chandelier above the dining table, and a swivel sconce above the sofa. In the bedrooms next to the bed, spot lighting is implemented in the form of sconces and there are decorative suspensions. In the bathroom there is an atmospheric mirror illumination, and in the guest bathroom there is a suspension that additionally illuminates the area of the technical sink for the dog.

The interior of the entire apartment is made in autumn colors. It is believed that the autumn palette is calmer and calming, it gave our stylish interior a warm and cozy touch.
