All technical units of the bathroom and kitchen are combined into one unit. The internal partitions of the studio do not connect with the ceiling, but break off at 2.3 meters from the floor level. This allows natural light to penetrate into all corners of the apartment. The studio space is vertically divided into two parts: the floor and everything else. The floor is made of untreated travertine, pleasant not only to the eye, but also to the touch. In summer, travertine fasts cool, so it’s good to walk barefoot on a hot day. And in winter, it retains heat for a long time, which is generated by underfloor heating. Curtains, 100% linen, H&M Home. Photo Vlad Feoktistov By and large, this is a one-room hotel: it does not have a lobby and reception, as in a regular hotel, guests and host do not need to meet, the apartments are controlled via wi-fi at a distance of 1000 kilometers. For me and my family, this is a second home, a place where you can escape from routine chores, relax and reboot. But the apartment is also suitable for renting. Photo Vlad Feoktistov The space is as clean as possible, complicated only by materials that work on tactile sensations. We have specially selected materials that will be understandable to a local contractor — you can meet them in any kebab shop, but with a certain pitch they look completely different. The finish was chosen with the expectation that the interior will age beautifully, but not become obsolete. Living room area. Behind the transparent linen curtains there is a dressing room, it is also a laundry room. Photo Vlad Feoktistov With the help of finishing, the space is divided vertically into two parts: the floor and everything else. The walls and ceilings are painted in the same color, which eliminates the difference between the planes and creates a feeling of infinite space. The floor is made of untreated travertine, it is static, contrasts with the surroundings and clearly outlines the horizontal. There is a kitchenette on the left behind the partition, a dressing room on the right. Photo Vlad Feoktistov The most difficult stage of the work was the laying of the floor. One slab of stone weighs twelve kilograms, and its thickness is four centimeters. One can imagine how difficult it was to drag him to the fourth floor. Laying was also not easy: despite the fact that travertine is a fairly popular finishing material in the region, it was not easy to find a qualified master. But the main problem was the cutting, which was carried out right in the apartment. In this process, a lot of dust is formed, which made life difficult not only for the masters, but also for the neighbors. Kitchen and bathroom. All items, including the ceramic sink, are custom made. The entrance door with a hidden box is equipped with a TT Lock remote control lock. Photo Vlad Feoktistov The kitchenette. Photo Vlad Feoktistov The color scheme refers to the Mediterranean interiors and desert landscapes of the coastal zone, with sparse vegetation on the sun-scorched earth. Linen textiles, which are set in motion by the slightest breeze walking around the apartment, also reminds of the south and the heat. Bathroom. The sink, mirror and shelf are made to order. Photo Vlad Feoktistov The interior items were designed specifically for this apartment. The storage system in the wardrobe and the mirror holder in the bathroom are made of metal. The metal elements are welded to a plate 3 millimeters thick, which is bolted to the wall using anchor connections. The fasteners are hidden under the trim, this is a little confusing and creates the effect of weightlessness. And the sink was made by amateur ceramists from the Crimea: they tested different types of clay and firing methods. The task was to get the shade of the product into the general tone with the wall decoration. As a result of numerous tests, a variety was chosen that suited us perfectly. A small dressing room accommodates everything you need for a short stay: shelves for clothes and a washing machine. There is also an air conditioner hiding here.
