The apartment of a fashion photographer and his dog in Madrid Design 21.02.2022 One glance at the interiors of this Madrid apartment is enough to understand that a person who is no stranger to fashion and modern art lives here Photo @IMAGENSUBLIMINAL The owner of this apartment in Madrid is a famous fashion photographer who has worked for many years in the most prestigious magazines in the USA. A few years ago, he decided to settle in Madrid and purchased a 175-meter apartment on the third floor of a XX century house. The project was handled by Gon Architects studio, which created a bright, non-trivial interior that perfectly reflects the character and love of fashion of the owner of the house. Photo @IMAGENSUBLIMINAL The process of turning the old Madrid apartments into a fashionable loft took more than five years. But the transformation turned out to be spectacular. In the renovated apartment, you will not recognize the dilapidated housing, from which, by the way, a lot of details have been preserved (meticulous designers have calculated everything) — a total of 22 doors and 955 tiles! Photo @IMAGENSUBLIMINAL Of particular interest were the original wooden floors and supporting columns, which were reinforced with metal structures. Now the spacious living room looks a bit like an exhibition hall. Everything that could not be saved, they tried to recreate exactly — some decorative patterns were even digitized to repeat them from modern materials. Photo @IMAGENSUBLIMINAL The interior of the apartment has become much lighter — Gon architects mainly worked with white, diluting it with bright details of burgundy, blue-green, black. In addition, the authors of the project carried out a serious redevelopment: now almost all the zones are connected to each other. The owner’s little dog was especially happy about this — doors and extra walls no longer prevent him from running freely around the apartment.
