The bright home of a photo collector in Massachusetts Design 19.02.2022 Evolve Residential Studio reconstructed the house of the 1990s, rethinking the traditional American rural style Photo Sin Litfield The owner of this house in Provincetown, an entrepreneur and a collector of photographs, has been looking for a new home for several years. Proximity to the city center and beaches was important to him, as well as the opportunity to receive guests and arrange a barbecue in the courtyard. As a result, he found a suitable option in a quiet area, with a view of the pasture, but there was one big “but”: the house of the mid-1990s was in desperate need of repair. For help, the owner turned to the Evolve Residential studio. The designers took the traditional Cape Cod style as a basis and tried to give it a new sound. The characteristic elements of a rural house – exposed wooden beams and painted boards – are harmoniously combined with modern design solutions and bold shades. The color palette of the interior, consisting mainly of white, red and blue tones, reminds of the proximity to the coast. The house is decorated with the works of such photographers as Cindy Sherman, Marilyn Minter, Mona Kuhn and others. Now the owner enjoys a secluded life in a quiet suburb of Provincetown.
