On an area of 57 meters, the designers managed to design a functional space for a young family with a child, using the design features of the apartment and the layout. At the same time, the authors of the project did not abandon bright colors.

Customers and tasks

The owners of this apartment in a typical house of series II-29 are a young family with a child. The couple work in the same company and chose this apartment because of the proximity to the office. It was an ordinary small-sized three-piece with a small kitchen, bathrooms and low ceilings that did not reach 2.5 meters. 

The family turned to the architectural bureau Carton group with the following tasks: to organize a kitchen-living room, to leave two isolated rooms for bedrooms, two bathrooms. It was important to think of roomy storage systems. “Both owners of the apartment like the Scandinavian style in the interiors, the feeling of lightness and airiness, but in their apartment they wanted to get away from the neutral monotony and get a feeling of color saturation,” the authors of the project say. 

Redevelopment

During the redevelopment, several tasks were solved. First, we organized a kitchen-living room. To do this, the entrance to the kitchen was moved. Since it is with a gas stove, it is impossible to completely remove the partition between the two rooms (this contradicts the rules of redevelopment), so they were separated by a sliding glass partition. 

Secondly, an isolated hallway was organized. For this purpose, a partition was built in the corridor. This made it possible to conveniently place the storage system in the hallway.

Thirdly, they made a dressing room, for this they allocated square meters of two bedrooms. Fourth, the living room was expanded due to the adjacent corridor. A private area with two bedrooms was entered from the living room through an opening. 

The change also affected the bathroom. It was increased due to the adjacent corridor and partially the kitchen area (the last change cannot be agreed approx. editorial offices).
