1 Tile and panels with 3D drawing

Dolphins, shells, poppies and other bright drawings on tiles or panels have long been signs of an outdated interior. At the same time, if the materials were originally of good quality, they most likely do not require replacement from a functional point of view. Therefore, few people will start repairs, just to get rid of a boring drawing.

The easiest way out in this situation is to paint over tiles or panels with waterproof paint so that the surface can still be cleaned. An even faster option is to stick a PVC film on top. Investments of time, effort and finances will be minimal, and the interior will immediately look fresher.

2 Synthetic curtains with frills

An outdated way of decorating the interior can be considered too bright curtains with frills or flounces. As a rule, they are made of synthetic fabrics. In the past, they were often chosen as an addition to the classic interior style. But now neoclassicism is much more often chosen, which implies restraint and minimalism in textiles. In addition, naturalness is in fashion, that is, the use of cotton or linen.

The trend for simple smooth lines, natural colors and natural fabrics will stay with us for a long time, so you can safely spend one day replacing curtains. If there are doubts about the shade or density of the fabric, take two sets: summer, brighter and lighter, and winter, more dense and restrained.

3 Glossy chipboard furniture

Many houses have a wardrobe, sideboard or chest of drawers bought 20-30 years ago, which visually crushes with its dark lacquered facades and does not fit into the interior. It is not necessary to throw out high-quality serviceable furniture and buy new ones just because of this.

To quickly update the appearance of the product, cover the walls and doors with a plain PVC film of the shade you like and replace the handles. As a result, you will get a trending retro cable in a modern design. 4 Textiles with large print

Another once popular, but already boring trend is to decorate the bedroom with a catchy and large ornament on the bed linen, and decorate the bathroom with towels with a bright pattern.

Replace such textiles with a more restrained monochrome or with a small non-contrasting print. The emphasis will thus shift to the depth of the color of the fabric and its texture. Do not forget to combine different types of textiles on the bed: bed linen, decorative pillows, bedspreads. In the bathroom, try to pick up towels so that they echo the finish or shower curtain. 5 Oilcloth on the table

For a long time, it was not customary to leave the table uncovered. But since it is difficult to wash and constantly update fabric tablecloths, more practical oilcloths have settled in many homes. To decorate the interior, models with bright drawings or funny inscriptions were selected. But now this technique has finally become a thing of the past and spoils the appearance of any kitchen.

Instead, give up the tablecloth altogether or replace it with beautiful serving napkins, they are easy to wash in a washing machine and update when you want to transform the interior. If the countertop is scratched or just looks unsightly, cover it with a transparent or plain self-adhesive film.
