1 Green

Green is suitable for the role of both the main color in the palette of the country interior, and an eye-pleasing accent. Paint the walls in light green or a richer olive tone, pick up emerald curtains or sofa upholstery. Shades of greenery are well perceived by the eye, do not put pressure on the psyche and do not overload the space. They also harmoniously combine the vegetation outside the window and the interior of the house, strengthening the connection with nature. The main thing is to avoid acidic neon shades, as they definitely do not have a rest.

Shade the dark tones of green with cold white surfaces: for example, the ceiling, interior doors, cabinet facades. With lighter shades, yellow and ochre inclusions are well combined, as well as all shades of wood. 

2 Blue

Another airy shade that will help you relax while relaxing in the country is blue. Light celestial, azure and cornflower tones will do. Like green, they blend seamlessly with the surrounding nature and create a holiday atmosphere in the house. 

What to combine with

There are two ways to fit blue into the palette of a country interior. The first option is to complement it with other light tones: white, gray, beige, sand. The second is to add a darker accent shade, for example, wine or emerald. 

3 White

In the cold Scandinavian countries, a sense of comfort is created with the help of white. It makes the interior of a country house brighter even on cloudy rainy days. Take this technique into service and paint the ceiling and walls white. For the floor, you can choose a cool light shade of laminate: for example, birch. All large furniture like sofas and cabinets should also be selected in color for a spectacular monochrome palette.

What to combine with

To make the space not look boring and hospital-like sterile, add contrasting accents: lamps, decor, curtains. The classic version in the Scandinavian spirit is black. But other saturated tones are also suitable: turquoise, pink, orange, yellow, green.

4 Blue

Classic blue is also suitable for cottages. It will fit especially well into the interior of the bedroom. Dark blue curtains will not let in sunlight in the morning and will allow you to get a good night’s sleep after a working week. So that they do not look foreign, pick up other details to match them. Since the color is active, but not too bright, it can also be large objects: for example, a soft bed or sofa.

What to combine with

Blue goes perfectly with white, so use this pair as the basis of the color scheme. As an accent in this case, golden elements are well suited: coffee table legs, lamps, candlesticks, etc.

5 Grey

If white and beige seem boring, but at the same time you want to relax in a bright and elegant space, use gray. It is great for country textiles: curtains, bed linen, sofa upholstery, carpet. Feel free to combine tones of different depths and saturation to make the interior look more voluminous and thoughtful.

Gray is a versatile shade that is easy to combine with other basic colors like black or white or complement with any bright accents.
