1 Mint

In addition, thanks to them, the loggia will smell nice. Mint can be bought in an already sprouted form and simply placed in hanging pots on the balcony or planted in a pot of seeds. Any varieties are suitable for germination. The soil needs the most ordinary, with the inscription “universal” on the package with neutral acidity and the addition of nutrients. Water the mint as the upper 2-3 cm of soil dries out. 

2 Basil

Another easy-to-grow and unpretentious spicy herb that you can not only admire, but also use it in cooking. It is sold in the form of seeds and sprouts. Watering is carried out as the soil dries out, it is not necessary to apply fertilizers during the summer season. If you want to spray the leaves with water from a spray bottle, do it at sunset or after, so that they do not burn under bright sunlight. During the summer, you can cut basil leaves if you need them for cooking, or thin out the sprouts if they have grown too thick. 

3 Lavender

Lavender also fills the balcony with a pleasant aroma and is suitable for those who would like to decorate their recreation area with flowers. This is a rather unpretentious plant that loves the sun, but will tolerate cloudy cool summer days. It sprouts from seeds for a long time, so if the task is to decorate the loggia by summer, it is better to buy an adult plant right away. Lavender is watered once a week, not allowing the water to stagnate in the pan. The soil this plant needs is alkaline. In autumn, lavender can be harvested and dried to be used in the interior as a dried flower or a natural flavor. Or just move it to the apartment and put it on the windowsill.

4 Fuchsia

Fuchsia is suitable for those who want larger and brighter colors. It has quite a lot of varieties, so in the store, in addition to the shade of buds, immediately check the availability of frost-resistant varieties in case of unpredictable weather in summer. The plant loves partial shade, so it is suitable for a poorly lit space. Water the soil as it dries, early in the morning or in the evening. For the winter, fuchsia will need to be taken to the apartment, but this will not be a problem: it tolerates the standard home climate well.

5 Begonia

Begonia is a tuberous plant that perfectly takes root even on poorly lit balconies. Tubers are germinated in spring and in May transplanted into the ground when sprouts appear. This is a rather unpretentious flower, but the only thing that is important to pay attention to right away is a high-quality soil. It should be fertile, slightly acidic and with good breathability. If you buy an already sprouted plant, then before transplanting begonia from a store pot into your own, do not forget to dig up new soil qualitatively. In autumn, the aboveground part is carefully cut off and the tubers are removed for the winter to germinate again next spring.
