6 successful techniques for a tiny bedroom that we found from designers | ivd.ru Design 02.12.2022 A rich palette, a glass partition, cabinets around the headboard spied on the designers’ ideas of stylish and convenient design of small bedrooms. 1 Replace the blind partition with a glass one A glass partition does not mean that you will live in an aquarium. For example, in this apartment, the bedroom area was allocated from the living room. To ensure privacy, the sleeping place was separated from the common space by a sliding structure. Glass in this case is more advantageous than deaf materials, because it allows light to penetrate from the window opposite. So the bedroom looks more airy and spacious, there is no feeling of a “closet with a bed”. In order to retire, curtains are provided that complement the glass partition and, if necessary, can protect both from the bright sun and from prying eyes. 2 Decorate the wall with a mirror Mirrors are a universal option for decorating a small room. They visually expand the space, double the amount of light, and thus the room of any area seems more spacious. In the bedroom, the mirror is also relevant because they change clothes there, apply makeup and do some cosmetic procedures. For example, in this interior, a large mirror panel is fixed to the side of the headboard behind the bedside table. Visually, she changes the proportions of the room and stretches the wall behind the bed, while reflecting the light from the window and the light finish opposite. 3 Disguise the cabinets Large cabinets in a small room look bulky and can greatly spoil the impression of the interior. But it is also impossible to abandon closed storage systems, because they help to unload surfaces from unnecessary things. So, in this project, the designer used a technique that allows to “dissolve” dimensional furniture in space: the walls of the cabinet were chosen to match the finish, and the front facades were made mirrored. They reflect and double the light from the window, and at the same time visually enlarge the entire room. As a result, a large wardrobe turned out to be quite “weightless”, and a small bedroom seems lighter and more spacious. 4 Don’t be afraid of saturated colors Even a small room deserves to be stylish and bright. For example, in this apartment, the bedroom is exactly like this: it is decorated in rich shades of orange, white and black, decorated with active decor, but it does not look cramped. The apartment has a second bedroom. It was allocated thanks to a small redevelopment, fenced off from the kitchen-living room with walls with a sliding glass partition. This technique helps to let natural light into the room, due to which it seems more spacious. The effect is enhanced by mirrors, the reflection of which just hits the window. 5 Paint one of the walls If there is not enough space for decoration, but you want to decorate the room, use the walls. For example, one of them can be pasted with accent wallpaper or given for artistic painting. It is important to remember that the colors and the plot itself should not be too bright and active. With the help of a drawing, you can emphasize the necessary accents in the interior, as they did in this room. The painting, resembling a wood cut, maintains the atmosphere of the Scandinavian style, which can be traced throughout the interior. 6 Use maximum storage space To fit as many things as possible into a small room, it is not necessary to force it with bulky cabinets. Storage systems can be integrated into the interior more delicately. For example, in this apartment, the bedroom turned out to be very tiny due to the presence of a second tier on top. It was impossible to fit a standard wardrobe here, so the storage system was located behind the headboard and on the sides of the bed. Small boxes, of course, will not hold all the possessions, but they will help to organize the most necessary things and everyday clothes. And a more spacious wardrobe in this case can, for example, be taken out into the hallway. Original content from the site
