“The apartments in the plan have an acute angle, fully glazed. From it, large windows stretch like a ribbon on both sides. This is the view point of the apartment, from here the city opens up to meet you, so we made this whole space a spacious common area. A dining group was set up at the glazed corner,” says architect Liya Babayants, Babayants Architects bureau.

“The customers, a young couple, wanted a bright, modern interior to match the dynamic architecture of the building itself. Therefore, a lot more saturated colors have appeared here than can usually be found in our works. Another wish was to create a mood of relaxation and enjoyment of life. We worked out the evening lighting scenarios separately so that it would be intimate and atmospheric here.”

The TV zone is being transformed. A large shelving almost the entire wall is made to order. It has movable partitions made of corrugated glass. When closed, it’s just a shelving. In the open — TV zone.

“We designed with “large strokes”, highlighted the main areas in volumes, architecturally emphasized the lines and differences of the ceiling, the composition of the kitchen, the TV area, hid everything superfluous and technical.”

The supporting pylon in the kitchen area was finished with wood to match the rest of the headset and an island was built into it. Now it is perceived as a full-fledged part of the kitchen and makes its composition architectural.

“There are many complex technical solutions in the project. Most of them are hidden from the observer: we see only plastic shapes, deep colors, beautiful geometry”

“The iconic Tufty-Time sofa from B&B Italia plays a special role in the project. A model that was first released in the 1970s. We ventured to connect modules from different fabrics — one textile in goose’s foot, and the second in orange leather. It turned out that this is still an idea: modules made of fabric and leather, due to their peculiarities, are made in different ways, therefore they are in different collections. But we still succeeded and the sofa looks very juicy in the interior!”

“The interior is built on contrasts: light walls and a dark stone floor; blinds on the windows and a pattern of circles on the ceiling; a laconic, silhouette dining area with a round table and a bright TV area with leather and printed sofa modules. The kitchen in the project is super architectural and concise. It is also built on contrasts: vertical volumes in dark wood, horizontal volumes in light gray composite.”

“We have built all the supporting elements and sewer risers into the concept and, being in the interior, you will not guess where they are located. For example, a large pylon in the kitchen area was decorated with wood to match the rest of the headset and an island was built into it. Now it is perceived as a full-fledged part of the kitchen and makes its composition architectural.”

“In the bedroom, in addition to the bright headboard and curbstones, we also see a contrast: the window area is highlighted by wood, which creates a special atmosphere at the dressing table; wood is also reflected in the mirror.”

“A little flirtation, references to legendary objects is one of the features of this interior. So, in the bedroom we can find an armchair by the dressing table in a “fashion” print. Such touches make the modern interior even more relevant.”

“This interior was a small experiment for us: we combined laconic and monumental volumes with artistic, almost velvet curtains, red leather, a bright bedroom, a sensual area for an evening toilet and a perforated ceiling. We wanted to get close to the balance of a modern and emotional interior. And it seems that we have succeeded!”
