1 Hang a wreath on the fence

A good way to give yourself and your neighbors a New Year’s mood is to decorate the fence. To do this, it is quite possible to use purchased accessories: for example, battery-powered LED garlands, wreaths and Christmas toys. If you do not want to leave expensive decor in sight, make jewelry with your own hands. Willow twigs and spruce paws are suitable for the base of wreaths. You can weave holly branches or boyarkas with bright red berries into them. Dried oranges, cones, dried flowers are also suitable.

2 Dress up a live spruce tree in the yard

If you have a live spruce growing on your plot, dress it up instead of buying a felled tree for the house. When choosing a decor, keep in mind that it must be resistant to weather conditions: humidity, cold, strong wind. Take only a street garland, with enhanced protection (this indicator is indicated by the abbreviation IP and must be at least 65). Ideally, if the garland is low-voltage, this is the safest option. 3 Make a stand for the Christmas tree with your own hands

For decoration inside a country house, it is worth using the maximum amount of natural materials. A bucket or a stand for a Christmas tree made of bright plastic will catch the eye and spoil the festive aesthetics. But it’s easy to fix: for example, collect a few logs and surround them with a stand for a fir tree. For reliability, tie the structure with twine, and put a few cones or even moss on top. This decor looks much more elegant and interesting.

4 Hang spruce garlands

Taking advantage of the proximity to nature, you can collect a large number of fir branches and decorate the house with them. Do not forget to first thoroughly rinse them on the street under a strong stream of water from a hose, as insects can sleep between the needles, and dirt just accumulates. When the branches are dry, connect them together and decorate the interior: the space above the fireplace or windows, railings, dining table, bookshelves. 

5 Use more natural decor

In addition to spruce branches, you can bring a huge amount of material for decoration to the house from the forest. Thin fallen branches will look beautiful in vases: independently or together with dried flowers. Larger branches are often hung from the ceiling or above the dining table and decorated with Christmas tree toys and garlands in a Scandinavian way. Cones, moss, even stones combined with garlands, textiles and wooden accessories all look very cozy.

6 Think over the table setting

Another important step in preparing for the celebration of the New Year in the country is to plan a festive serving. It will be a shame if the garden and the house are elegant, and the table is boring and ordinary, with old cutlery and plates that do not match. To create a festive atmosphere, you will need a tablecloth, table paths or textile stands for plates, beautiful appliances and dishes, a diode garland powered by batteries, or candles in candlesticks, as well as some fir branches.

7 Find Vintage Christmas Tree Toys

Another technique that will cause a lot of pleasant emotions is to include vintage toys in the decor. If you don’t have your own family inheritance, go through flea markets and ad sites: often you can find whole sets of jewelry reminiscent of childhood, for little money.
