Forecasters promise that real summer weather will return to the city this weekend. We have compiled a selection of places where you can hide from the sweltering Moscow heat. If you want to cool off in the 30-degree heat, we advise you to visit the ice cave right in the center of Moscow. This is a spatial art object created by artist Alexander Ponomarev and architect Alexey Kozyr. Visiting an ice cave is like traveling to winter in the middle of a hot summer: from the inside, the entire installation is covered with ice and frost and illuminated with LEDs. The temperature in it ranges from — 4 °C to — 9 °C, so bring warm jackets or blankets with you. An adult ticket to the cave costs 300 rubles, a child’s ticket (up to 18 years old) — 150 rubles, and guests up to 7 years old can visit the ice cave for free. Ice cave in Zaryadye Park. However, you can swim and sunbathe right in Moscow. Beaches are open in many parks of the capital in summer. Among the most popular are paid summer pools with beach areas in the parks “Fili” (sandy beach with free sun loungers) and “Sokolniki”. In the latter there is a free recreation area by the Putyaevsky pond with all the necessary infrastructure for swimming. Here you can both just swim and learn water sports. The Bassein in Sokolniki Park is in particular demand, which can be an ideal platform for lovers of Ibiza-style beach parties. This recreation area has two swimming pools, a volleyball court, a beach swing, a frisbee area and a yoga club. The Bassein in Sokolniki Park. Photo Yandex Maps Indoor skating rinks The next option to escape from the sweltering heat in the capital is indoor ice rinks. They perfectly save from the heat, because they work almost all day. The temperature at the rink is usually from +6°C to +9°C. If you prefer hockey rather than figure skating, then indoor ice rinks will also be a great place to relax. For example, at the skating rink in the Skazka Park in Krylatskoye, there are all conditions for this: from rental and sharpening of skates to renting clubs. For the convenience of visitors, figure skating sessions are separated from hockey sessions. In summer, Moscow also has ice rinks in Fili Park, the Serebryany Sports Palace, the VTB Ice Arena, and offers night skating at the City Sport Ice Palace. Many indoor skating rinks are located in shopping centers, which is very convenient for those who want to refresh themselves — in the Aviapark shopping center, Mega Belaya Dacha, Vegas Crocus City, Vegas Kuntsevo. Water parks in Moscow receive everyone every day who wants to take shelter from the scorching sun. The only outdoor sunbathing area is at the Caribia Water Park. Its interior deserves special attention: a glass dome instead of a roof, columns, and the design style of the water park resembles ancient Roman baths. On the territory you can visit baths, saunas, a spa center, a bowling alley, a fitness club. In addition to adult slides, there are also children’s “frogs” in the water park, which will allow the whole family to relax (even with small children). The Caribia Water Park. Pool area. And there is also a children’s city camp! Photo Moreon Island of Dreams The Island of Dreams theme Park has managed to become a favorite place for Muscovites, where you can have fun and spend time with your family. In summer, this place will be a great escape from the Moscow heat. Under the largest dome in Europe, which is located in this park, you can watch the “dancing” of fountains. This amazing show takes place at the beginning of every hour and will provide a pleasant coolness to all viewers. For more extreme cooling, we recommend going to the “Castle of the Snow Queen”. Snow does not melt on the territory of this attraction even in summer. Children and adults will be able to look into the ice castle and spin in an ice vortex if they dare to ride on the attraction. Another cool location in the “Island of Dreams” is a summer cinema and an evening landscape park with sun beds near fountains. View of the Island of Dreams Photo Yandex Maps River Station The renovated Northern River Station became a new point of attraction last summer. There is a modern beach area with swimming pools on its embankment. We warn you: already at 8 am all the sun beds are occupied, and the seashell sofas and soft four-poster beds are not cheap. But if you try, you can find a place here and relax on a hot day in the company of friends or family. On the territory of the beach area there is a phytobar and a cafe where you can order salads and refreshing fruit cocktails. Swimming pool at the building of the Northern River Station. Photo Yandex Maps Tsaritsyno Tsaritsyno Park is a favorite place for many Muscovites to walk in hot weather. There are many walking paths in the shade of trees, where you can lie down and have a small picnic with friends. Fountains work in the park, which help to escape from the heat. Lovers of plants in Tsaritsyno will definitely like it: in July, purple foxglove, paniculate phlox, purple echinacea, Chalcedony lichnis, veronica oakwood, marsh chistets, meadow cornflower will bloom there. The main attraction of Tsaritsyno is, of course, the Great Tsaritsyno Palace. A visit to the palace will not only allow you to learn new facts about Moscow, but also save you from the scorching sun for a while. View of the Great Tsaritsyn Palace. It is better to enjoy this time of year every moment and spend the summer months walking around the beautiful places of the capital in a fascinating way.
