The designer created a neutral interior with delicate accents for an adult accomplished woman. It turned out to be a delicate space with elements of modern classics.

Customers and tasks 

This apartment belongs to a woman, the owner of a beauty business and the mother of two adult daughters. Housing was conceived as a place for solitude on weekdays and meetings with friends for Sunday breakfasts. For interior design, the hostess turned to designer Anna Maltseva. It was necessary to organize the space, make a separate bedroom and allocate a place for receiving guests. Contrary to expectations, the owner of the apartment did not ask to think over a lot of storage places, she does not have a lot of things. 

Layout 

The developer rented an apartment without partitions. Of course, according to the plan, wet zones were designated, which Anna adhered to in the construction of the layout. 

It turned out that today they call the eurodome a combined kitchen-living room, a small bedroom and a bathroom. The kitchen is enclosed in a small niche, while the main role is given to the living room.

In the bedroom, Anna allocated a dressing room and a space fenced off with glass partitions. 

Finishing

Paint was chosen for wall decoration, decorating smooth surfaces with moldings in the bedroom. Laminate flooring in the living rooms. The floor in the hallway and kitchen were decorated with tiles with a bright pattern, the designer specially used the same coating to visually connect these zones, because they are both clearly visible from the living room. On the apron of the kitchen there is a tile with a decorative pattern, which also acts not only as a practical finish, but also as an ornament of this space. 

The decoration of the hallway is solved interestingly. The designer enclosed the “dirty” entrance area in a kind of gray cube. The walls, ceiling, and even two cabinet doors are painted in this shade, those that are closer to the front door. Such a delicate, from the point of view of color, solution gives a wow effect without the use of bright decor, this area attracts attention and is remembered. 

In the bathroom, granite and marble tiles were used on the floor, and the areas that do not come into contact with water were painted.

Furniture and storage systems

The customer did not ask to make many storage systems, and Anna thought through the necessary minimum. This is a dressing room in the bedroom, in fact, a small corner separated from the room by glass partitions and curtains.

In the hallway there is a wardrobe for outerwear. The bathroom has a cabinet under the sink and a closet with a built-in washing machine and shelves. The kitchen was made without the upper cupboards of dishes, as well as things, the hostess has a little. In addition, the absence of the upper module allowed us to focus on the beautiful tiles on the walls. The refrigerator was built into a high cabinet, and an additional storage space was made there. In the living room of such places, only a TV stand. 

The furniture was chosen in simple shapes, but elegant. For example, attached tables on thin legs, a round dining table on three legs, a soft sofa with rounded armrests. Against the background of neutral walls, the upholstery of the furniture stands out quite brightly, although it is not saturated colors, rather pastel: blue fabric of the sofa and bed, pink dining chairs and pouf. 

“I wanted to add colors to the main neutral palette (shades of pink, blue), they were associated with the customer, Anna explains the choice.  It turned out to create the very harmony in which the interior and the customer are a continuation of each other. After the implementation, when I saw the wardrobe filled with clothes, I was surprised how exactly I got into the mood and range: a lot of pink, blue, burgundy, gray shades in clothes.” 

Lighting 

The author of the project adhered to the traditional rules in the preparation of lighting scenarios. The main light is bright spotlights on the ceiling in the living room, kitchen and bathroom. The second scenario is a local chandelier above the dining table, a sconce above the kitchen work surface and a chandelier on the ceiling in the bedroom. And the third decorative, chamber hanging lamp in the hallway by the mirror, sconces by the mirror in the bathroom, hanging lamps on the sides of the bed. 

Decor

There is unusually little decor in the interior and this is intentional. Here they relied on a calm, neutral range and delicate accents in the form of furniture. In the living room, a decorative element can be considered a false fireplace with a mirror portal, next to which a set of candles in tall glass glasses was placed. The fireplace shelf can become a place for other accessories. In the same living room, a decorative partition separating the kitchen attracts attention. And yet the main role here is assigned to the decoration and furnishings.

Designer Anna Maltseva, author of the project:

At the first meeting, the customer said that she did not have any examples of interiors that she liked (I usually insist on references, since blind work is not very effective). But she was sure that I would be able to offer something that she would like. And so it turned out. The first developed concept immediately hit the target. I was inspired by the image of the customer, her wardrobe, appearance and energy. I wanted to create an airy, delicate interior with minimal storage spaces, since the customer supports rational consumption and does not have a lot of things.
