The owners of this apartment in a new building on Presnya are a young creative couple, IT workers, they travel a lot and are interested in art. In the interior, the texture of concrete is combined with natural wood of different shades, and tiles with a rust effect and metal details in the door decoration echo the industrial landscape outside the window. In order for a small apartment not to look too boring, the space was filled with bright colors: furniture, carpets, decorative items bring energy and cheerful mood to the interior, consonant with the active and creative nature of the owners of the house. It was decided to leave the main color of the walls in the apartment neutral — an ideal background for furniture and decorative items.

Most of the time the young family spends in the living room with two corner windows. In addition to them, the authors of the project installed doors and partitions made of frosted glass that let daylight into the room, so that a small space looks bright and spacious, gives a feeling of lightness and adjusts to a positive mood. A blue sofa and vintage-style chairs sit side by side with a modern metal and glass coffee table and a wooden chest of drawers, whose simple geometric shapes refer to the design of the 1970s.

Young people don’t cook a lot, they only needed the kitchen to prepare breakfast or quick snacks. Therefore, it was made compact, but at the same time functional. The front wall is freed from the upper modules, this place is intended for decoration. Hanging cabinets to the ceiling are installed on the right and left, and a roomy column cabinet for oversized items is also made. Despite the small size of the kitchen, it has all the necessary appliances: refrigerator, dishwasher, hob, microwave. But we decided not to install the oven yet, if there is a need in the future, it will be easy to do: the oven cabinet and the electric cable to it are already laid in the project.

One of the main wishes of the customers was to make them an isolated bedroom. The authors of the project came up with an interesting architectural solution: two doors with panoramic windows with decorative glass lead to the bedroom from the living room area. This allows you to make a small bedroom brighter and at the same time provide comfortable and free movement between rooms. As the owners of the house laugh, each of them has a personal passage to the bed.

The bedroom is designed in monochrome – both the decoration and the built-in wardrobes are made in a single neutral, light shade. Accessories, textiles and decorative items create the mood. “The most unusual item in the interior was Veronika Malyakina’s embroidery. She took her rightful place above the headboard of the bed, combining together the bright color accents used in the design of the apartment. Customers working in the field of digital networks fell in love with the work at first sight,” the authors of the project say.

The bathroom turned out to be quite spacious. There is enough space in the cabinet under the sink for a washing machine, storage of towels and cosmetics. The shower cabin was abandoned in favor of a bathroom. The brutal style of porcelain stoneware is balanced by a bright panel with parrots and mirrors in an apricot-colored metal frame.

“Most of the work took place at the height of the pandemic, and the restrictions associated with it greatly influenced the approach to the implementation of the project,” says the designer. – Finishing materials and furniture items had to be selected and ordered remotely via the Internet. There were difficulties with the timing of deliveries and the availability of goods. Some items had to be returned or repaired so as not to wait for replacement for months. For example, one of the mirrors in the bathroom came broken twice. It was decided to replace the broken mirror in the workshop, without waiting for the replacement of the goods for the third time. But the challenge was accepted, and the result exceeded all expectations.”
