They wanted to live in a traditional cozy wooden house with a comfortable and modern interior. Barbecue, Grandkamin. Photo Ilya Ivanov A fragment of the terrace. Photo Ilya Ivanov The main task of architect Fyodor Belyaev was to design a one—story structure that would accommodate all the rooms necessary for the technical task, without sacrificing the most important thing – comfort. Each room, having a fairly compact size, does not seem cramped — this is achieved by combining the height of the first floor and the attic into a total volume, a large role in increasing space and additional insolation is performed by attic windows. The spectacular technique of contrasting the black facade and the light interior also makes the rooms visually larger. The basis of the planning solution was to ensure the privacy of each room — the direction of the windows is linked to the location of the house on the site and the proximity of neighbors. So despite the extremely compact plot, there is no feeling inside the house that neighboring houses are nearby. Kitchen-dining room. Fireplace, Astov. Photo Ilya Ivanov The principles of environmental friendliness of suburban life predetermined the use of only natural materials in the decoration — oak, metal, glass. The processing of all materials also has an important role — the material must age properly, for example, Osmo oil from natural ingredients was used for the treatment of wooden surfaces. The fireplace is lined with natural granite. The brutal texture of the stone brings some irregularity to the calm interior of the living room, as well as the columns of the terrace, made of untreated logs, enliven the smooth facade of timber. Photo Ilya Ivanov The construction went so smoothly and easily that the house was erected in record time — 10 months passed from the excavation to the placement of the decor in the interior. And the balance between the beauty of wooden architecture and modern comfort was achieved by staying within a strictly defined budget. Bedroom. Bed, Belyaev Manufactura, porcelain.
