A Frank Lloyd Wright-style house near Moscow Design 26.11.2022 Designer, decorator, artist and teacher Olga Rozet presented her recently completed project — a house (more than 500 sq m) created as an homage to Frank Lloyd Wright — with all the architectural features that are still unusual for the near Moscow region The owners of this house are creative people with a dizzying biography, organizers of home concerts and film nights, subtle connoisseurs of humanitarian dialogues, immersed in the architectural environment. Olga Rozet notes that it was thanks to them that she managed to realize her dream project. “The common interest in the creative search of Frank Lloyd Wright provided a complete mutual understanding — both at the level of strategic decisions and when choosing important details. The project’s customers have been immersed in the American tradition since the 90s and quite organically perceive the development of their own everyday experience within the framework of Wright’s concepts,” says the designer. Photo Mikhail Stepanov Now the works of the star American architect Frank Lloyd Wright (Frank Lloyd Wright) are being addressed by adherents of eco-friendly strategies in construction, landscape planners and furniture designers. It is quite logical that the layout in this project involves open interior solutions and an elegant combination of the building with the surrounding nature. “The magical landscape created by Tatiana Lebedeva, on the one hand, preserves the atmosphere of an old country place near Moscow, on the other hand, it absolutely naturally accepts the architecture of the house. All interior solutions here are created according to Wright’s “outside — inside” principle. Not a single detail of the decoration distracts, but rather focuses attention on the nature around the residence.” Living room. Photo Mikhail Stepanov One of the designer’s prides is the successful combination of a luxurious garden near Moscow, meditatively magnetic ponds and ancient paths with a new building. The space surrounding the house is filled with attractive details: chairs covered with natural patina, benches filled with stories, monumental stones. “The effect of a friendly combination of new facades and landscape context was achieved with the help of large panoramic windows and terraces, “working” as connecting elements. The lower terrace opens directly to a two—level pond — a direct reference to the famous “house over the waterfall”,” adds Olga. Canteen. Photo Mikhail Stepanov The first floor of the house is divided into two zones: public and private. The public area includes: an entrance hall, a kitchen and a living room — they organically merge into each other. At the same time, the owners can always separate the kitchen from other rooms using doors with stained glass windows made in the artistic processing of Wright’s classic design by the author of the project. In addition, iconic objects belonging to customers help create harmony in the new interior. Among them: a lamp located above a huge dining table, floor lamps and table lamps brought from the USA. He has been waiting for his happy fate for more than 20 years. The antique thing was inherited by the owners of the house from their parents. It didn’t even need to be restored. “We just collected it and dusted it!”, the designer enthuses. Master bedroom. Furniture from Russian manufacturers. Photo Mikhail Stepanov One of the main advantages of the interior (and the whole house) is that it readily accepted its owners and provided them with a full impression of a “habitable” space. “This effect was achieved thanks to thoughtful geometry in the interiors and well-inscribed objects belonging to customers, combining all this beauty with color and common motifs.” My son’s bedroom.
