A game of classics: a house in the Moscow region Design 29.11.2022 Sometimes the simplest solution lies on the surface. Photo VALERIA TURKEY “Make me a classic interior!” — with such a clear request, the owner of this house turned to Svetlana Arefieva. “The confident position immediately bribed me,” says the architect. — At the first meeting, we seemed to tune in to the same wave. I prepared the references incrementally: starting with the interiors of John Saladino, we moved on to the works of Jacques Garcia and the Ritz hotels. You know, in the interiors of hotel lobbies, there is often a certain overkill to produce the necessary effect.” The living room is separated from the hall by a row of false columns. Photo SERGEY ANANYEV Svetlana Arefyeva’s projects are distinguished by an unusual work with color — a catchy palette gives her interiors a bold character. “I immediately noticed how the colors were combined in the customer’s suit, and his bright portfolio suggested to me that we could try unusual combinations in the interior,” says the architect. And so it turned out — the first sketch of the living room, made in an unusual peach color scheme interspersed with pistachio and lemon, was approved. Staircase hall. Mirror, Chelini. We didn’t focus strictly on one style” “These are the most frivolous colors you can imagine,” Svetlana smiles. — There is something of the playful Rococo era in this, but in general this interior is a kind of classic game. We did not focus strictly on one style — there are Empire elements, rocaille elements, and a little chinoiserie: the tops of the cabinets in the study are shaped like pagoda roofs, they are echoed by lamps in the nursery, fabrics and wallpaper depicting Chinese vases and oriental scenes. This resonated with the owner’s hobbies — he collects porcelain and studies Oriental philosophy.” A room for playing chess. Chivasso upholstered table and chairs, all Moissonier. Lantern, Badari. On the ground floor, in fact, there was no living room — instead there was a space divided into two parts by a podium. At the same time, a supporting column is located in the center. I had to disassemble part of the podium — fortunately, there were no communications. The result was a full-fledged living room, which was separated from the hall by a number of columns, only one of which is a carrier. The complex shape of the hall was harmonized with matching pilasters on the walls and an active pattern of the marble floor. Guest bedroom. Chair, Officina Inglesa, in Schumacher fabric. Even the painting of marble columns, which we initially refused, we decided to carry out a week before the delivery, when we found a very good decorator, – says Svetlana. — But, of course, this project would not have been possible without the courage of the owner himself. For example, in the bedroom we chose between the colors Burgundy, Merlot and Borscht! And when they painted the chess room in four shades of green, from malachite to emerald, and invited him to make a choice, he just shrugged his shoulders: “I completely trust you!”Isn’t this an ideal situation?” www.wdinteriors.ruA fragment of the master bedroom.
