A new interior as a way to start a new life Design 18.07.2022 Apartment in the style of modern classics is an inspiring project of designer Tina Gurevich “The apartment should be bright and not like my old house. After all, a new interior is a beautiful way to start a new life” – this was about the customer’s wish for the design of this interior. The hostess lives here alone, but loves when her friends or her adult son and his wife come. Hence, another wish for the project is to provide a full–fledged guest bedroom. Living room. Private – for the customer, which includes her bedroom, bathroom, dressing room. And the common room, where the living room, kitchen, guest bedroom and guest bathroom are located, – says designer Tina Gurevich. – Among the unusual items in the interior, a pair of vintage chandeliers in the living room can be distinguished. This is a very rare Italian light of the middle of the last century, the era of modernism, the skillful handwork of Italian glassblowers. There are only four such chandeliers left in the world. The living room with a length of more than six meters was divided into two parts, which allows guests and the hostess to communicate both privately and together. In the bay window area there is a custom-made round table and buffet with eucalyptus veneer trim. Photo Evgeny Kulibaba “To visually raise the ceilings, I used a win-win technique: high doors plus high baseboards painted in the color of the walls. As for the ceiling cornice, it has one important nuance. The part of the cornice that goes to the wall is much smaller than the part that goes to the ceiling. Visually, we see a beautiful wide cornice, which takes away the minimum amount of wall. As a result, there is no feeling of a low ceiling at all,” Tina Gurevich shares her professional secrets. Photo Evgeny Kulibaba “I know that many designers pick up curtains quite early,” says Tina. – But in this project it was decided that the curtains in the main rooms will be as close as possible to the color of the walls. Therefore, the fabric for window decoration was selected already at the end, when the walls were painted. Except for the guest bedroom, in which there was a desire to make the curtains brighter. The lampshades on all the lamps were tied with silk or velvet, suitable for the interior. It’s not difficult, but it brings a touch of individuality.” The mistress’s bedroom. At the same time, the color of the walls was chosen based on the general coloristic concept and taking into account the fact that the walls are just a background that should shade or emphasize the beauty of objects.” Dressing room.
