Apartment 118 m2 on Plushykha: Marina Poklontseva’s project Design 20.06.2022 A restrained and at the same time delicate interior, where a dandelion glows under the ceiling of the living room, and wisteria blooms on the bedroom walls all year round — a new work by designer Marina Poklontseva Living room. How is it? It’s very simple: I started designing the interior, in the process customers found a more interesting real estate option, sold one apartment, bought another. And so on until we found this apartment in the Grand Deluxe residential complex on Ivy, which suited them in all respects. During this time, we managed to get closer and get to know each other well, which helped a lot. After all, another feature of this project is that all the work was done by me from scratch and remotely. During the construction, the customers lived abroad, we coordinated controversial issues using all modern types of communication, and the owners saw the finished interior already when they arrived with their belongings.” Two chandeliers in the living room, located on different axes, provide zoning of the space. Photo SERGEY KRASYUK Style DASHA SOBOLEVA “According to the developer’s project, the apartment was two-room: kitchen, bedroom, living room. But my customers have a small child, so we needed another room — a nursery with the possibility (in case of sale of the apartment, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens again!) alterations to an office or a guest bedroom with a double bed. Therefore, I made the nursery spacious, and for this I had to combine the kitchen with the living room.” Kitchen, Aster Cucine. Dining chairs, Seven Sedie. On the dining table — vases, KSceramics. For example, the bedroom walls are covered with plain silk wallpaper from De Gournay. But the accent wall behind the headboard is decorated with hand-painted delicate wisteria flowers.” Bedroom. Photo SERGEY KRASYUK Style DASHA SOBOLEVA “The design of the nursery room is more strict, built on shades of natural wood interspersed with green tones. The sofa bed is made to order in Italy. The fact is that ordinary folding sofas do not involve the installation of a mattress. But we initially agreed that the sofa should be a full-fledged bed with a comfortable mattress, which the customer herself will choose for her child. She chose and bought an American King Koil mattress (30 cm high) in Moscow, which easily fitted into the sofa frame. The factory sent us an additional piece of upholstery fabric, from which we sewed the perfect cover for this mattress, and now it is impossible to distinguish the sofa from the bed. However, due to the non-standard dimensions, the sofa did not enter the freight elevator, we had to manually lift it to the seventh floor. Fortunately, large doorways are provided in the entrance of the luxury house, in the apartment their height is 2300 mm (standard 2100mm). It was this fact that allowed the sofa to be brought in without dismantling the doorways.” Vienna chandelier, designed by Jonathan Adler, Robert Abbey. A carved 3D panel on the wall is the most difficult element in the office, many parts of different shapes were carefully adjusted to each other at the production stage so that they could be installed on the object without gaps. Elegantly combine the kitchen, dining room and sofa area on the square, which was originally intended only for the kitchen (the original living room, let me remind you, was given over to the office) — quite a difficult task. It was necessary to come up with easy visual zoning markers. So shallow decorative shelves appeared above the sofa, and a two—meter-high mirror triptych appeared in the dining table area.” Canteen. We chose gray-lavender color, glossy surface and silver potal for the facades. So the lavender color from the bedroom smoothly switched to some elements in the living room, and everything blossomed with a delicate color. It only remained to arrange the bouquets in vases — alive and painted.” Marina Poklontseva’s design studio, www.poklontseva.ru Kitchen, Aster Cucine.
