Before and after: how a stylish and comfortable interior was made from an apartment in concrete “from the cover” Design 18.06.2022 On an area of 68 sq . a separate bedroom, a comfortable kitchen-living room, a large bathroom and a lot of storage space are organized for this, a separate pantry and a dressing room are thought out. Customers and tasks The owner of this apartment in St. Petersburg moved from Naberezhnye Chelny, and according to her, she liked the house where the housing is located a few years ago when she visited the Northern capital during a business trip. In fact, the apartment is considered one-room, but with a spacious kitchen-living room. The hostess has a lot of things, so one of the main wishes for the interior was the arrangement of spacious storage systems. Designer Vasilisa Maksimadzhi was advised to the owner by the head of the construction team. Thus began a fruitful cooperation, the result of which was this interior. Redevelopment The original layout provided for a separate bedroom, a kitchen-living room, a bathroom, a dressing room and a small elongated pantry. The redevelopment affected the hallway area, dressing room and pantry. The kitchen-living room and bathroom remained within their borders. To make the storage space more ergonomic, we decided to “take” square meters from the hallway and rebuild the utility rooms. In the new layout, these are almost equivalent in area spaces. The dressing room can be accessed from the bedroom, and the pantry from the hallway. Also, to implement this idea, the entrance to the bedroom was moved, now it is from the kitchen-living room. Finishing For wall decoration in residential areas and the hallway, wallpaper was chosen for painting and paint, and other accent materials were used, veneered and gypsum panels as an accent. So, a plaster volumetric panel highlights the wall in the TV area in the living room. Relief plaster panels decorated part of the walls above the upper cabinets of the kitchen set. In the hallway, one of the walls is decorated with a veneered panel. The wall with a shelf and a door in the bedroom are finished in the same way. Parquet was laid on the bedroom floor. In the hallway and kitchen-living room, we used wood tiles and decided not to divide this space with different floor finishes. The same floor was made in the bathroom. Speaking of bathroom decoration, light marble tiles were used for the walls, in the sink area the wall was laid out with ceramic granite under the same wood as on the floor. Also, porcelain stoneware under marble can be seen on the kitchen apron. Its veins perfectly harmonize with the gold fittings of the kitchen set. Storage systems The main storage systems are a pantry for household items and a dressing room in the bedroom for storing clothes, an ironing board and a steamer. But besides them, other storage systems have been implemented. So, in the hallway there is a built-in closet flush with the wall, it is designed for outerwear and shoes. In the living room there is a TV stand, in which, among other things, sockets for connecting appliances are hidden. The bedroom provided a place for a large library of the owner of the apartment. The photo, of course, does not show the entire collection of books, but a roomy wall-length shelving will be able to accommodate it. Opposite the bed there is a chest of drawers for linen, and next to the window there is a countertop, which is divided into a workplace and a dressing table, and a wardrobe for things, documents. The kitchen set was made spacious, with all necessary appliances, including a shredder for waste, the hostess loves and knows how to cook. In the bathroom, a spacious wardrobe was thought out, where a column from a washing machine and dryer was built in. And this is in addition to the bedside table under the sink and the cabinet above the toilet installation. In short, the hostess’s requirements for the organization of storage systems are fully met. Lighting The general lighting scenario was implemented with the help of spotlights, but still the main role in the interior is given to atmospheric lighting. And in every room it is thought out to the smallest detail. For example, in the hallway, sconces are hung on the walls, which illuminate not only the room itself, but also the ceiling, in addition, the illumination of veneered panels under the ceiling is implemented. In the kitchen-living room, a pendant lamp allows you to create atmospheric lighting over the dining table at night, and a floor lamp provides a relaxed mood in the sofa area. The kitchen set is additionally illuminated, which is important in the cooking area. In the bedroom, additional lighting was implemented by the bed, these are reading sconces and hanging lamps. In the window area, the workspace is illuminated, as well as a makeup mirror where a dressing table is provided. In the bathroom, a mirror is also additionally illuminated with a suspension, and night lights are also implemented: shelves, curbstones. Designer Vasilisa Maksimadzhi, author of the project: The color scheme wanted to create a feeling of relaxation, comfort, femininity and tenderness. Therefore, there is a lot of wood, light white and pink shades. And in contrast with this lightness, the dark, rich and noble color of the kitchen works in combination with gold fittings. Elements of gold pass through the entire apartment: handles in the kitchen, on cabinets, sconces in the hallway, plumbing and shower partition in the bathroom, hooks, lamps in the bedroom, golden legs at the desktop.
