Sandro Takaishvili is not only a designer, but also a co-owner of the hotel, which got its name in honor of the film by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai “My Blueberry Nights”. The dark tones in which all the rooms of the hotel are “dressed” are a tribute to this film, which won the Palme d’Or and the hearts of millions of viewers.

The main lobby is decorated in such a way that the visitor feels like in the foyer of a cinema: the carpet is dark blue on the floor, the chairs are upholstered in velvet. The reception desk with a plexiglass facade is inspired by retro-futuristic films.

The rooms recreate the atmosphere of the designer’s favorite films: in one, the guest recognizes the style of David Lynch, the other refers to the films of Stanley Kubrick. The film tour is accompanied by a soft soundtrack of noir films, sounding in the lobby. You can enjoy music around the clock: each room has a vinyl record player, a projector and an empty wall that can be used as a screen.

Most of the furniture in the hotel is locally made, but there are rooms decorated with lamps with paper shades in the style of Isamu Noguchi, which Takaishvili brought from Japan. Other rooms are furnished with teak and cane chairs by the architect Pierre Jeanneret, delivered from London. Sandro Takaishvili assures that he did not strive to be fashionable — his task was to give the guests the feeling that they are inside the film.
