This unusual house, designed for several families, used to be a local church. It was built in 1891 for the development of the then uninhabited Rainier Valley. Already at the end of the XX century, the building fell into disrepair, passed from one owner to another, and in 2012 it became completely abandoned. Two years later, the church had new owners who took a risky step – they decided to turn the church into a residential building. The local firm Allied8 helped them in this.

To begin with, the house has a new extension. Its wood-paneled facade effectively contrasts with the original architecture of the late XIX century. In addition, at the junction of the two volumes, the architects designed a spacious terrace where residents can gather in the warm season. Each apartment has a unique layout, which has become for many a significant argument in favor of moving.

The interior of the apartment is designed in a modern style. White walls, light parquet – against this background, concrete accents and original ceilings painted in black look especially impressive. The furniture is selected in the style of mid-century modern. The authors of the project tried to combine references to different eras in the interior to emphasize the unusual past of this house.
