Initially, the customers did not plan to live in this apartment. It was created for their daughter, who is engaged in studio shooting. Her parents decided to organize a comfortable photo studio for her and invited designer Ekaterina Plotnikova to implement this unusual project. But in the process of work, the initial data changed: the girl became a mother and moved, and her parents kept the apartment for themselves. However, this did not make any drastic changes to the project: customers fully trusted the designer and accepted all her ideas with a bang.

“The main difficulty of planning a small apartment is to fit the “inappropriate”,” says Ekaterina. Therefore, there are many functional storage systems in this project that smoothly flow from one zone to another. For example, wardrobe facades turn into kitchen furniture and are repeated in the living room.

The bedroom is separated from the common area by a mobile glass partition. If desired, it can be opened as much as possible by combining the premises into a single space. Thanks to this solution, it turned out to be as light and airy as possible.

The rooms are united by a single style and a common color palette. House plants and bright accents dilute the black and white scale and help to highlight functional areas. So, the red accent wall distinguishes the living room area from the common space. On it hangs a painting “Inflorescence”, which was written by the designer herself. “It complements the color of the walls in an interesting way, while relieving tension from the eyes,” says Ekaterina.

The kitchen combined with the living room is decorated in a simple black and white color. The facades of the furniture are shaded by an expressive stone pattern on the kitchen apron. Simple lines, clear shapes and transparent chairs support the minimalist aesthetics of the space, and the kitchen unit with white facades installed opposite the window reflects the sun’s rays and fills the kitchen area with bright daylight.

The bedroom is separated from the common space by a glass partition, which additionally lets light into the small room. A convenient storage system is located on both sides of the bed and does not visually reduce the space. Small sconces above the headboard allow, if desired, to create a chamber cozy atmosphere that sets up a relaxed holiday.

The bathroom, like the whole apartment, is made in black and white colors with simple forms of furniture. Glass, metal and mirror surfaces emphasize the conciseness of the space and visually increase it.
