“The customers are a married couple with two adult sons, the youngest is still living with his parents,” says designer Anastasia Kholoptseva. — In this family they love art, ballet, read a lot. Therefore, one of the main wishes of the owners was a large library, as well as the use of art and decor items in the design.”

The apartment was originally quite spacious, with high three-meter ceilings and a good layout that does not require drastic interventions in the project. Anastasia only made a spacious dressing room in a large hallway and additionally insulated the loggia in her son’s bedroom, which was already attached to the room.

The owners are lovers of classics, so many classic details are used in the project: stucco on the walls, panels in furniture, wide cornices and baseboards, white doors with facet glass, brass and Murano glass. A perfect backdrop for the classic interior in the living room is the library at the far wall, custom-made for this project. And so that the decor does not look too old-fashioned, stylish lamps, beautiful curtains made of Italian silk with edging, a laconic white carpet and modern ceramics on the shelves are added to the interior.

“The decoration of the living room was a grisaille painting on the main wall,” says the designer. — We conceived it to be monotonous, background, not very attention-grabbing. We tried to match the artistic paint to the tone of the wall, but all the shades were slightly different. As a result, the artists worked with decorative paint, which complicated the work — this paint is rougher than artistic — but this did not affect the quality of the drawing in any way. The plot was used floral, reminiscent of classical wall paintings in historical interiors. The frames-moldings are painted as deceptions, although many people think that they are real. The owners admit that often, sitting on the sofa opposite the painting, they look at the details of the drawing and enjoy it.”

“The most unusual item in the living room — and in the whole apartment — is, of course, the stove,” says the designer. — Initially, we planned a “professorial” Dutch oven, an imitation in white aged tile without a furnace, just a decorative object. But the customer really liked the bio-fireplace with a live fire, which we discussed as an alternative. As a result, we “married” two ideas, and we got a real stove with a real fire. The bio-fireplace does not require any communications, so it can be installed in a city apartment. In our case, we complicated the task for ourselves: we closed it with a door, so we needed a lower blowout and an upper view.

The very appearance of the stove has also changed relative to the original design. When we got to the ceramic workshop, we could not resist the abundance of beauty, and the customer insisted on using floral drawings in the decoration. So an allusion to English botanical painting appeared on the walls of the stove.”

A black-and-white panel was hung in the kitchen, which serves as a background for the restrained dusty gray-blue color of the kitchen with wooden pear inserts. Roman curtains with embroidery serve as a bright mustard accent in the room. Thanks to the good area of the room, it was possible to realize the dream of the hostess and design a small buffet.

The master bedroom of the house is small but cozy. The panel behind the headboard in the couple’s bedroom turns the room into a magical garden with birds of paradise and fruit trees. Aged sconces, a wardrobe with textiles behind glass doors, a ball of rose quartz in a lampshade above the bed, a beautiful veneer in the surface of the desktop — all this supports a slightly fabulous and soothing atmosphere of the sleeping area.

Since the hostess is engaged in business and works a lot, she wanted to have a separate workplace. A small corner in the bedroom was allocated for him, organizing a desk by the window, with a countertop on the windowsill.

As many as five design projects were proposed for the son’s bedroom, and almost all of them were made in a single style with the rest of the house space. And only one of them stood out with special dynamism and bright colors — and it was he who liked the future owner of the room.

Dutch wallpaper with bright stripes defined the color scheme of the room. It was decided to highlight the headboard using color blocking and make it darker and more cozy. The former window sill has turned into a wide functional desktop countertop. There was also a place for musical instruments: guitars and electric pianos.

The small bathroom is decorated with granite with a marble pattern. The cabinet with beautiful glass handles is made to order. It is supported by a mirror, the frame of which is decorated with paper with an individual print and hermetically sealed with anti-reflective museum glass. Elegant sconces in the form of pineapples complete a small composition.
