Colored lamps designed by Barber Osgerby Design 16.02.2022 British designers are showing their new collection at an exhibition at the Kreo Gallery. Photo: Alexandra de Cossette The Signals exhibition has opened in the London branch of the Kreo Gallery, where you can see new works by Britons Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby. Together with the Italian factory Venini, the designers have released a collection of bright Signals lamps made of Murano glass. And Osgerby adds“ “She has a special energy”” The dynamism of the objects is emphasized by saturated shades and caramel glossy texture. Photo: Alexandra de Cossette Photo: Alexandra de Cossette The Signals concept assumes duality: each item contains the juxtaposition of two geometric shapes, two different materials and two types of production. So, the lamps are literally “made up” of glass shades, hand-made by Venini glassblowers, and aluminum blocks made on factory equipment. “This project combines different fragments of our previous design experiences,” says Osgerby, explaining the name of the collection. – Color compositions, craft and industrial technologies, recognizable geometric shapes — each of the Signals lamps serves as a signal of an idea”” Photo: Alexandra de Cossette Photo: Alexandra de Cossette Photo: Alexandra de Cossette The authors consider the central element of the series to be a totem floor lamp with two red plafonds that make the floor lamp look like a minimalist audio speaker. “Cones are ideal for transmitting and receiving information — they stimulate communication and attract attention”” the designers believe. The collection also includes ceiling-facing sconces and “composite” hanging lamps, which will look especially good in groups. The exhibition at the London Galerie Kreo will last until April 16, 2022, and on March 10 a similar exhibition will appear in the Paris branch of the gallery.
