How 6 functional zones were arranged in a one-room apartment: a real example of an apartment of 48 sq. m. Design 07.07.2022 The kitchen, living room (combined), bedroom, dressing room, laundry room in this apartment have thought through everything to the smallest detail and created a minimalistic, comfortable and functional interior for a married couple. Customers and tasks The couple bought this apartment in Moscow for themselves. They have a dog (a French bulldog). They turned to designer Lina Knyazeva for an interior “for dynamic and modern people,” as Lina herself describes. It was important to equip a full bedroom, a dressing room, make a laundry area, and provide a shower room in the bathroom. Redevelopment According to the original plan, the apartment was a eurodome, as such layouts are called today. That is, a separate bedroom, a large enough kitchen, which also provides for the arrangement of the living room. A bathroom was allocated, as well as a small dressing room-pantry. The layout, in general, was consistent with the wishes and request of the owners, but it could be made even better and more convenient. Which we implemented. So, the kitchen area was slightly expanded to the area of the hall. This made it possible to fit a compact linear headset and not take up much space in the kitchen-living room. The bedroom was reduced to make room for a dressing room. The bathroom remained within its boundaries, and a laundry area was decorated in the closet-closet. There, of course, left a storage space. Finishing One of the wishes of the owners was not to use expensive materials for wall decoration. Nevertheless, the interior turned out to be one that can be described by the word “visually expensive”. The secret is in the selection of shades and textures. Light paint on the walls is a win-win option, which also visually expands the space. An engineering board is laid on the floor. Granite marble, which decorated the walls in the bathroom, one of the walls in the hallway and the wall behind the TV, at the same time a fashionable material, but at the same time practical and long-lasting. The texture of natural stone will always be relevant. The dark stone tile on the hallway floor contrasts favorably with the light walls. The apron and countertop of the kitchen and bar counter are decorated with acrylic stone. Fluted surfaces also add textures. They were used in decoration, but also in decoration. So, corrugated glass decorates the partition between the bedroom and the dressing room. And the TV area is decorated with a three-dimensional plaster panel, also corrugated. Furniture and storage systems According to the author of the project, they always design storage systems themselves to give customers maximum convenience. This project, of course, was no exception. The main system for everyday things is a dressing room in the bedroom of customers. Household items, as well as outerwear, are stored in the laundry room. The laconic kitchen set has enough storage space. This is provided, among other things, by the tier of mezzanine cabinets. For small things, there is a TV stand in the living room and a hanging console in the hallway. Furniture is also an accent in a laconic color space. For example, the terracotta upholstery of the sofa attracts attention in the living room, and the berry-colored console catches the eye from the threshold. Lighting The main lighting is represented by track and built-in ceiling lights. Local lighting is implemented by zones. For example, suspensions over the bar. And on both sides of the bed in the bedroom, they replace standard bedside lamps or sconces. In the bathroom, the main lighting is complemented by spectacular lighting mirrors and furniture. Designer Lina Knyazeva, author of the project: The main wish was to create an interior for dynamic and modern people. Clients wanted to get a cozy and minimalistic space for working from home and relaxing after work. It was important to create a very bright interior with wooden and black accents. Also, to diversify the interior, we used brass inserts, plaster volumetric panels and the texture of light marble.
