How designers make for themselves: 5 bathrooms from the apartments of the pros Design 24.06.2022 Designers embody the wishes of the client in their projects, but what do the interiors look like, where are the clients themselves and their families? Examples of bathrooms were shown. We have already made a selection of kitchens from designers’ apartments, now it’s the turn of bathrooms. Let’s see how the pros design the interiors of these rooms in their apartments. 1 A little loft and retro Alexander Mershiev’s small studio is filled with unusual details. The white color was not used here, it was an experiment and a kind of challenge by Alexander: arrange a small apartment without the traditional shade for such spaces. There are a lot of retro furniture here: re-upholstered chairs, restored chairs. There is a repainted mass-market kitchen from Leroy Merlin and a chest of drawers from IKEA. The bathroom realized the idea of combining modern textures, even a little brutal, and restored furniture. So, the walls are covered with tiles with the effect of aging, partially painted. And under the sink is a cabinet that used to be an old chest of drawers. The textured curtain hides the washing machine in a budget and stylish way. And household items are stored in a closet with fashionable louvered doors. 2 Modern interior with elements of eco and scandi In the apartment of designer Victoria Vishnevskaya, the bathroom also continues the idea of the entire interior with unobtrusive shades, appropriate decor, functionality. There are gray tiles on the walls, but not boring, look at the texture and light geometric pattern. All this is complemented by wooden elements, a countertop, a mirror frame, as well as light plumbing and furniture (an IKEA cabinet). 3 Bright bathroom with beautiful textured tiles The studio of designer Kristina Licik has a modern interior. For her bathroom, the designer chose a light textured tile, which especially “plays” when the backlight is turned on, there is a spectacular frame that demonstrates this. Also an interesting feature of this interior is the absence of a cabinet under the sink. A washing machine is installed under the wooden slab-style countertop, and all storage is implemented in the form of a spacious closet opposite the shower. 4 Bathroom and bathroom with ethnic details The apartment of designer Angela Yakimovich, which she designed together with her colleague Tatiana Laptieva, has two bathrooms: the master bathroom and a small guest bathroom. In both rooms, the mood is created by details. So, gray granite with a pronounced texture was chosen for the bathroom, but the decor is a picture, plants “insulate” the cold finish. Here you can also pay attention to the fact that the wall opposite the pedestal is half decorated with a mirror, a good technique for visually enlarging the space. In the small guest bathroom, gray granite and light beige with a pronounced stone texture are combined. The poster above the suspended toilet creates a light holiday mood. Please note that designers do not forget about the decor in the bathrooms. There is even a place for posters and paintings! 5 A spacious room with a separate utility area and a large bathroom In the apartment of designer Evgenia Filatova, the bathroom occupies 6.6 square meters, there is a large corner bath, and in the niche there is a utility zone with a column of a washing machine and dryer, a water heater. It is separated from the rest of the space by a light louvered screen, a solution that made it possible to hide the utilitarianism, but at the same time did not weigh down the interior. The finish has natural textures. This is porcelain stoneware for wood and marble in three shades: beige-brown on the floor; dark, almost black in the sink area; light with brown streaks as the main wall decoration.
