Together with designer Varvara Zelenetskaya, we talk about the most relevant bathroom solutions using the example of the new Jacob Delafon collections.

1 Strict geometric lines

Minimalism and conciseness are perhaps the main modern trend in interiors. Such solutions look especially impressive in combination with noble materials and deep complex shades. This trend was vividly embodied in the Terrace collection: simple thoughtful shapes with right angles favorably set off by an array of natural wood and lacquer coating.

The same applies to smaller parts, mixers have also become more concise and strict in form.

The Terrace collection is surprisingly comfortable and ergonomic, it will look good in any interior – be it Scandinavian style or minimalism.

2 Or their opposite are irregular, like “natural” forms 

On the other hand, eco-design with references to natural motives is becoming more and more fashionable. Designers rely on a muted, neutral palette, streamlined shapes, smooth lines, the absence of obvious angles and, again, high-quality natural materials. To follow this trend, it is enough to bring a couple of such elements into the interior. For example, in the Nouvelle Vague collection there are sinks and mirrors, shaped like a drop of water, they look perfect in a pair.

Nouvelle Vague is one of my favorite collections: incredibly sophisticated, stylish, made in a modern spirit. I especially like the presence of graphic elements in it.

3 Black or graphite parts

The dark contrasting decor won our hearts a few years ago and is not going to give up its position. Such elements help to visually “assemble” the interior, give it a little of the necessary rigor and elegance. In most cases, matte black faucets look more advantageous than their chrome counterparts.

The trend of the season is black graphics. Since the interiors have gone into a black-and-white color scheme, such elements emphasize the spirit of the time.

4 Matte surfaces 

Another easy way to create a stylish and non-banal interior is to add matte surfaces. This texture looks especially impressive in combination with glass, as, for example, in matte countertop sinks in the Vox collection.

It is very important for the bathroom that the surfaces are pleasant to the touch. The Vox collection successfully combines convenience and tactility.

5 Faucets as a decorative element

Faucets and shower watering cans have ceased to be just a functional element now it is a detail that can set the tone for the entire interior. The Cleo collection presents faucets in a refined retro design, they are ideal for a bathroom in the neoclassical style. At the same time, their functionality remains on top thanks to the PVD coating. This is an innovative vacuum spraying technology, which is used to finish faucets with gold, brushed steel and protects the product from scratches and damage for a long time.

6 Functionality and compact solutions

The trend towards compactness and thoughtful functionality of each element is relevant not only for small-sized spaces (although for them first of all, because a small area needs to be used and optimized as much as possible). In a spacious bathroom, it is also important to arrange everything in such a way that it is convenient to use it. Here come to the aid of solutions that are invisible at first glance, but in fact play a very important role. Built-in shower shelves, shower trays made of innovative materials, universal fasteners, it is important to think through every detail to create maximum comfort for yourself.

Sometimes it makes sense to replace the bathtub with a modern shower cabin with an innovative pallet, for example, made of Flight material, which looks neat and minimalistic and combines functionality, durability and tactile pleasant texture.

Progress does not stand still — the manufacturer thinks through every detail, improves and makes its products as convenient as possible for use not only in large spaces, but also in small-sized ones. And every year the detailing of products is being improved and becomes more and more thoughtful — the very little things that ultimately provide comfort in use.
