We tell and show with real examples how to design a small kitchen. Kitchen 5 sq. m. m is a typical phenomenon for Khrushchev and Brezhnev women. But a compact cooking area is also found in some new buildings: for example, in studios or if a niche is allocated for a kitchen corner. And some people make alterations and consciously reduce the footage based on their life scenarios. In this article we will tell you what to consider when working with a small space and how to fit all the necessary equipment into it. How to design the interior of a small kitchen of 5 sq. m General tips First of all, you need to understand that it will not be possible to place everything at all on such a limited area. So, to the kitchen of 5 sq. m. m washing machine, refrigerator, dishwasher and dining area will not fit, no matter how much you want. Therefore, we will have to prioritize. To do this, decide for yourself what you can’t do without in the kitchen. Maybe you need a dishwasher, and the refrigerator can be taken out into the corridor. Or there is no way to find a place for a washing machine in the bathroom, so there is no choice but to integrate it into the headset. When you know exactly what should be on these five squares, you can think over the overall concept and design. A few rules will help with this: How to arrange furniture In the cooking area, as a rule, there are two types of furniture: storage systems and a dining group. Sometimes a soft zone or a workplace on the windowsill is added. Headset What is important to consider when choosing a headset: In small spaces, it is very important to use all the surfaces to the full. Do not ignore the walls: you can hang small shelves on them. The same applies to the inside of the headset doors: hooks, hanging organizers and even small pull-out sections can be attached there. Dining area If you decide to make a dining group in the kitchen, then look for the most compact solutions. It can be: How to enter equipment and communications The next point (it is also the most difficult) understand how to fit all the necessary equipment into five squares. It is mandatory to find a place for a minimum set: stoves and sinks. The refrigerator can be moved outside the cooking area, if the layout of the apartment allows and it is convenient for you. If you do not cook for a large family, consider the option of a compact tile for two burners, usually they are quite enough, and so you will free up space for an additional work surface. The microwave oven can be hidden in the upper cabinet, hung on the wall or put on the windowsill. If the refrigerator is still in the kitchen, there are three options for its placement: Finally, it remains to resolve the issue of communications. If the apartment is located in an old foundation, then most likely you will get a kitchen of 5 sq. m. m with a column or gas pipe, which often looks unaesthetic. These technical details can be played in different ways: Projects with layouts Consider the layout and photos of kitchens of 5 sq. m. m with refrigerator and other necessary appliances. 4.9 sq . m . It’s hard to believe that a cooking area of less than five squares can be so functional. However, in this compact three-piece, the designers managed to equip the kitchen corner with everything necessary, while not overloading it. Every centimeter was literally involved here: a corner mezzanine set was placed on two walls (thus we got the maximum usable area) and continued it to the window sill, under which several more boxes were organized. The wide surface can also be used as a soft zone by placing seats or pillows on top. And to the left of the entrance they put a neat white locker for additional storage with open shelves above it. 5.2 sq. m Combining the cooking area with the living room in Khrushchev is not so easy, but it is possible. For example, this was done in this project. Since the house is gasified, it was forbidden to make an open layout. But the designer came up with an interesting move: an invisible door was installed between the kitchen and the living room. When it is open, it is not visible, which creates a sense of a single space. The dining group in the form of a half-bar table was taken out into the hall, and all the necessary equipment was placed on five squares. The headset was arranged L-shaped, leaving the wall by the window empty. However, it also has a useful area allocated on it. The wide window sill is suitable for storing compact equipment and other small things. Photo of kitchen renovation 5.5 sq. m The buildings of the Brezhnev period are also characterized by small isolated rooms. The designer designed this two-room apartment for herself. To get rid of the feeling of cramped rooms, the entrance to the kitchen area was made from the living room, separating them from each other with a partition. On 5.5 squares, it was possible to place not only a set with all necessary appliances (including a dishwasher!), but also to arrange a small dining group. An elegant round table and transparent chairs were chosen for her, which create the effect of lightness, practically dissolving into space. And the elongated upper lockers allowed for more spacious storage, at the same time visually increasing the height of the ceiling. 5.6 sq. m And here is an example of an atypical Stalinka: without high ceilings, stucco molding and spacious rooms. The kitchen in this two-room apartment is also small, only 5.6 square meters. But even more interesting here is the complex layout: there is a niche in the room, and the designer used it 100%. A roomy refrigerator was built in there, and a kitchen cabinet was hung above it. But that’s not all! A narrow section with shelves was made on the side, and there was enough space between the locker and the ceiling for low drawers in which you can store various small things. The main part of the headset is located linearly, but the so-called “Stalin refrigerator” is equipped under the window sill. It can store both food and any other things: from tableware and textiles to small appliances. In the lower tier there is a special compartment for bottles. The dining group is also located here. To save space, a folding model was chosen instead of the usual table: at any time it can be folded, the chairs removed and free space is formed. Original content from the site
