The main task was to create a practical, minimalistic and at the same time cozy interior. The apartment was supposed to have a bright spacious living room with a large dining table, a large dressing room, a bedroom and a children’s room. The couple are very fond of cleanliness, so any piece of decor was questioned and was subject to careful discussion. “Nothing should be superfluous, and all things are put away in their “proper” place,” was their main wish. We got a 66 sq.m space with three windows and two thick load-bearing walls. There was a choice — to sacrifice the living room in favor of a bedroom with a window, or leave the common space open, and “hide” the bedroom behind the nursery. Customers eventually chose the second option. Lamp, Mantra. Chair, Rom. Photo Dina Alexandrova The kitchen is made to order, Marion. Household appliances, Asco. Sink and mixer, Omoikiri. Porcelain stoneware, Kerama Marazzi. Photo Dina Alexandrova We wanted to emphasize the height of the ceilings and shift the emphasis from the load-bearing beams. To do this, all the built-in furniture, decorative partition and cashing doors were designed to the full height of the walls. Based on the location of the beams, we divided the space into a recreation area, a dining room and a kitchen. Each zone has its own type of lighting and color accents. The strict kitchen is made in a white shade, the dining area is emphasized by the warm tone of wood, and the blue sofa has become the center of the TV area. Children’s room. Photo Dina Alexandrova Since the master bedroom is located behind the nursery, we “let in” natural light into the room through a small window under the ceiling, and decorated the wall opposite with a mirror. It was necessary to accommodate everything in a small nursery — from the wardrobe to the workplace. Instead of a bed, we decided to put a sofa with an orthopedic mattress and folding armrests. So we managed to free up as much space as possible. Bedroom. The furniture is made to order, Marion. Plaster and paint, Derufa. All personal belongings, a dryer and a washing machine were placed by the customers in spacious closets. We designed them without handles, and externally the facades look like wall panels. Bathroom.
