Alexander Senchugov and Ksenia Alexandrova designed an apartment for a customer who likes loft style, Scandinavian interiors and the city of St. Petersburg

The main idea of the project is to preserve the loft concept and at the same time make the space as cozy and functional as possible.

“We were very lucky with the customer,” say the authors of the project, Alexander Senchugov and Ksenia Alexandrova. — She moved to live in St. Petersburg from Moscow, chose an apartment in a loft complex on Sredny Prospekt Vasilyevsky Island and immediately agreed to our proposal to support the architecture of the building and decorate the interior in the same style.”

Since the apartments were rented with a free layout, the authors of the project were not limited by anything. They decided to divide the space into a kitchen-living room and a bedroom, at the entrance they organized a large dressing room and a bathroom stretched along the kitchen.

The kitchen-living room is separated from the bedroom by a loft partition with frosted glass and a metal mesh baked into it. This is the most important element that brings together all the details of the interior. Plants, of which there are a lot in the apartment, look especially impressive through it.

The concrete ceiling from the developer was preserved and simply covered with a matte varnish. Artificially aged parquet was placed on the floor — any scratch only makes it more interesting. Since the apartment is small, we decided not to split it with different types of floor coverings — a wooden board lies both in the kitchen and in the hallway.

In the corridor, bathroom and dressing room, the ceiling was lowered to dilute the channels of central house ventilation in it. On the concrete ceiling, all the wiring is open, the lights are located in a tire suspended on cables.

On the windows, instead of curtains, there are wooden blinds painted black. The wall with windows was decorated with brick tiles to continue the exterior cladding of the building in the interior. The wall in the bedroom is decorated with wooden panels in the color of the floor.

In the bedroom, the rigidity of the loft style is softened by natural wood, textiles and living plants, which, thanks to the abundance of light, feel great here.
